Barbara Nelson was my English teacher as well in the 70s at Punahou. I would tend to believe her, but did find her to be one who had a seeming crush on the athletic boys in the class. I should know. But she was a good teacher and very credible person - if not a little shrill. She is definitely someone who would remember things that others would likely not think about. This story rung true for me, the only wierd part was the guy writing down the stanley part and then suppsoedly writing someone about it, but nerds never cease to amaze me. Punahu had some odd ducks. Obama ought to thank his capitalist roots and his grandmother for his opportunities in life, not socialism.

He may have been born in Hawaii. Today the Supreme Court met to consider Dr. Taitz’ petition. This appears the usual mis-direction. It give drones a response to those nuts crazy enough to still question that citizenship is a valid issue. “Look. This Republican doctor knows he was born in Hawaii!” The danger to Obama of the birth certificate is that should the issue get before the courts, Article II will be harder to avoid. Don't get distracted. Obama calculates that our country is in such a mess that the Men in Black will avoid Obamas’s lack of two citizen parents. This is constitutionally very clear - which doesn't mean, in this age of penumbra, that they won't decide that Bingham, Scalia, John Jay, Ben Franklin, Emmerich de Vattel (Laws of Nations), really didn't mean to discriminate against a handsome young mullatto Marxist. Those potential rioters in Detroit, Watts, ... don't know that their government checks will disappear as our currency devalues, jobs disappear (which means little to most of them). Biden will likely be president, but the constitution will be in place. Obama has said to the courts that he'll call them when he wants something. Otherwise, stay out the way. This is a socialist revolution and The Constitution is an historical artifact.

so do you think this woman is telling the truth or lying...or is she just mis-remembering? (is that a word?) is she someone who could be bought or bribed?

“I may be the only person left who specifically remembers his birth. His parents are gone, his grandmother is gone, the obstetrician who delivered him is gone,” said Nelson, referring to Dr. Rodney T. West, who died in February at the age of 98.

Here’s the story: Nelson was having dinner at the Outrigger Canoe Club on Waikiki Beach with Dr. West, the father of her college friend, Jo-Anne. Making conversation, Nelson turned to Dr. West and said: “‘So, tell me something interesting that happened this week,’” she recalls.

His response: “Well, today, Stanley had a baby. Now that’s something to write home about.”

In this remark to Nelson, I do not see the doctor saying he delivered Obama. He may well be saying he read the announcement placed in the newspaper.

The new mother was Stanley (later referred to by her middle name of Ann) Dunham, and the baby was Barack Hussein Obama.

We all read the newspaper article that gave as much information.

“I penned the name on a napkin, and I did write home about it,” said Nelson, knowing that her father, Stanley A. Czurles, director of the Art Education Department at Buffalo State College, would be interested in the “Stanley” connection.

What STANLEY connection?

She also remembers Dr. West mentioning that the baby’s father was the first black student at the University of Hawaii and how taken he was by the baby’s name.

Now that is something to write home about, Hussein is a name we all are taken by.

Rather than think Nelson made this up I think the reporter took liberties.
