Obozo is exactly correct ... winners get to call the shots.
This has been a failing of GOP moderates, including W, who time and again bent over to reach out to Democrats at every turn ... instead of adhering to their values and acting like the majority (when they had it) instead of whimpering puppies trying to make nice with Democrats who wouldn’t piss on them if they were on fire.
The answer “we won - buzz off” should have been forcefully put on the Democrats when they asked for power sharing, and legislative creation.

This is what Republicans need to do when they’re on top, but they never do. Right now, Obama’s on top and he knows it. He’s not going to reach across the aisle, he’s going to make the Republicans crawl to him...and they’ll do it. Well, it is very clear that both President Bush and Vice President Cheney already set the tone for this kind of action by saying that they were abandoning free market principles in order to “save the economy”...
It’s not like Bush and Cheney weren’t right behind this very thing, themselves, even offering to help Obama get legislation moving while Bush was still in office...
I’d say the Republicans in the Congress are “behind the eight-ball” on this one, giving the precedent of Bush and Cheney...
