Obozo is exactly correct ... winners get to call the shots.

This has been a failing of GOP moderates, including W, who time and again bent over to reach out to Democrats at every turn ... instead of adhering to their values and acting like the majority (when they had it) instead of whimpering puppies trying to make nice with Democrats who wouldn’t piss on them if they were on fire.

The answer “we won - buzz off” should have been forcefully put on the Democrats when they asked for power sharing, and legislative creation.

You are so right. When will the GOP learn that lesson? Time to clean house.

While I would agree that the GOP is dead....it was the American electorate that put this guy on the throne. We have met the enemy....and it is us.

Yep. biggest single mistake Bush made was not taking this approach from day one.

No, "we won" is uttered by crass party animals.

A Statesman considers himself a leader of ALL the people. He takes executive action decisively when necessary, but is also at work to convince and reason.

"We won" is for juveniles. Not surprising Hussein uses that rhetoric in what should be a negotiating session.

A-men!

Dubya brought Slick Willie back from the political dead in 2001 after the Clinton exit fiasco-including the Mark Rich and terrorist pardons. He allowed Schoolbus Nagin to slide on Katrina and let the MSM pin it all on him. He didn’t get ahead of the financial mess last summer to call out Bawney Fwank, Raines, Dodd, et al nor did he use all his power to ensure a GOP POTUS in ‘08-not just for the party’s sake, but the country’s. We ain’t safe now, that’s for sure.

That’s also why The dems will keep winning until conservatives find a new home, anywhere except the GOP.
I know I won’t vote repulican again, even for my favorite, Sarah.
