President Obama listened to Republican gripes about his stimulus package during a meeting with congressional leaders Friday morning - but he also left no doubt about who's in charge of these negotiations. "I won," Obama noted matter-of-factly, according to sources familiar with the conversation.
The exchange arose as top House and Senate Republicans expressed concern to the president about the amount of spending in the package. They also raised red flags about a refundable tax credit that returns money to those who dont pay income taxes, the sources said.

Actually, this is one of the few times I've agreed with the loudmouthed Marxist.
did you not hear....nancy changed the rules in the house so that cannot happen anymore....the only choice left is for the pubs to just not show up, no quorum, no vote...
Bump
Oh yes him.
Tell that to Snowe, Collins, McCain, Graham, Specter and Luger. And those are only the senators who I can think of off the top of my head.
I agree with that completely! I just don't agree with the part of a Republican saying "I Won" end of story. I want a Republican President that doesn't cave to the Dems but at least listens and then takes them out. I worded it badly. I don't like arrogance but I also don't like a Republican President that caves to the Dems like not getting rid of all US Attorneys which is their right.
I know the RINOS will not help...but it is a fun thought.
"Reid said a Congressional Budget Office report that says the stimulus funds wont be pumped into the economy until 2010 doesnt provide an accurate picture.
(snip)
He also said Orszag guaranteed that at least 75 percent of the bill would go directly into the economy within the first 18 months.
Uh, it's 2009. Remind me again... How many months are there in a year?
dumbazz
That’s also why The dems will keep winning until conservatives find a new home, anywhere except the GOP.
I know I won’t vote repulican again, even for my favorite, Sarah.
Dem’s motto has always been “My way or the highway”. But when they make a mess of things, they blame the Republicans for the mess they make (think Chris Dodd and his BFF Frank)
This is why Reid & Pelosi alway make noises about seeking bi-partisan support (by which they mean at least 2 Republicans voted for their proposal). If the policy blows up down the road the Media will not say that it passed over Republican objection.
In truth, the Republicans played the same game.
“I won,” Obama noted matter-of-factly..”
Hey Obamachev, that game is over, a new one has begun ya arrogant bastage.
Republicans could cut this fiasco to ribbons with a a death of 1000 cuts by replaying the Clinton Health plan scare. Obamachev’s poll ratings will rapidly suffer if enough doubt is generated.
At a minimum, Republicans should withold any support and have no finger prints on this.
Hahahahahahahahaha....hohohohohoho...hahahahaha...stop it...you're killing me...

Yep, GOP is D e a d!
I have to be completely honest.
I really thought Obama’s first 100 days were going to be filled with bipartisanship and moderate decisions.
I was so so wrong. He’s taken the reigns as the arrogant, stupid SOB we knew he was.
I smell the end of a love affair. Obummer’s true colors are becoming transparent much quicker than I thought they would, and me thinks his followers hopeful attitude will become nauseating shame very soon.
Remember when W won, with out help..then we find out that he’s allowing the Swimmer to write the Education Bill?
How bipartisan of him. Did anyone believe that nonsense about reaching across the isle during the campaign?
This man is on a power trip and his idea’s could destroy the country.
He even EXPECTS the GOP to simply stand down criticism. I say we need to step up the criticism.
