Now Obama Debuts Pledge to Make Guns 'Childproof'
Surprising very few of us, we see that once in office, Obama is more open about his gun control efforts at WhiteHouse.gov:
Address Gun Violence in Cities: Obama and Biden would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent.
How, precisely, does the Obama Administration plan on "making guns in this country childproof"? Mandatory trigger locks?

We engineers have a saying: "We try to make things idiot proof, but they just make better idiots."
The Massachusetts Gun Control Act of 1998 resulted in an 84% decrease in the number of licensed gun owners since it went into effect - pretty effective disarmament I'd say. Over that period, gun-related homicides have INCREASED 68%
I'm doing my little part: as a life-long MA resident, I've never bothered with the extreme hassle this state imposes on its subjects to exercise our RKBA. But no more - my LTC is being processed now and I'm going to buy as many guns as I can possibly afford and that She Who Must Be Obeyed will tolerate.
More good info HERE, for anyone who is interested to know what is going on in MA. And you BETTER be interested, because this WILL be the model for what Obama wants to do nationwide.
Just so you know, Obama’s idea of an “Assault Weapon Ban” will make the days of the Clinton Ban look like the “Good old days”...
{{ . . . crickets . . . }}
Ok, this is stupid, but are we going to let him reenact the AWB??????
"We have sweet little old ladies out there who could utterly destroy a 2" stainless ball bearing -- with a cotton swab..." '-)
How are we going to stop them, really? This obscene bailout nonsense has already proven that the federal government will do whatever they damn well please, whether we peasants like it or not.
The four most dangerous words in the language are, "It's for the children."
Its past time to make guns a TOXIC subject in this country.. touch our guns.. and expect to lose elections. That simple.
He wants a CLINTON style Assault weapons ban, and childproof guns huh.. well I say we give them pure hell non stop until they drop it with the gun bans.. like we did with immigration.. light up the phone lines.. scream, protest, and let them know we will not tolerate gun bans in this country.
Enough already.
Haven’t you heard? In this brave new world of ours we don’t have to watch our own kids anymore. We rabble can live our lives of irresponsibility and stupidity, and let our betters take that responsibility
Obama is no Gump. Gump was a war hero.
Just the tip of the iceberg. Just a warmup.
Lot more too come. Lots.
Heaven help us ‘cause we certainly won’t help ourselves.
Commonsense measures according to who, exactly?
I think the Heller decision addressed the locking them up thing, and opened some other doors too.
Ummmmm, they already are, they have a “safe” mode...even I know that and I am not a big time shooter...
Hell, my "almost 7 yr old" can out shoot my retired USMC gunny sgt brother-in-law. I'm not gonna tell him he can't do it anymore. They can KMA.
I'm sorry to hear that. Are they special needs kids or have you just not spent enough time with them? ;>
Well, that’s as good a premise as mine, and neither puts him in a very good light.
I appreciate the opinion and hope you are right.
