CNN's Soledad O'Brien Suggests Obama's a Hero Like the Hudson River Pilot

CNN’s Saturday filled with following Barack Obama’s train trip to the Inauguration was also filled with Obama praise. At one juncture, CNN couldn’t help but metaphorically merge Barack Obama with the exhilarating news of the US Airways pilot who landed his plane in the Hudson River without losing a single passenger.

A few minutes after 2 pm Eastern time, anchorman Wolf Blitzer recalled "Soledad [O’Brien] and I were talking about this earlier and she was saying metaphorically in some ways, the pilot of that airplane is very much like Barack Obama -- that he got the plane down safely, but everybody else had to join together to get out of the plane and pull together to get through that adversity. I thought that was an interesting metaphor.

Yesterday I was listening to Larry Kudlow,

I usually agree with Kudlow. Yesterday I had to stop at the point where he agreed with the argument that we should suspend our mental criticizing of Obama during the inauguration, in order to more completely experience the event.

Sounds like a very dangerous idea to me.

How many times, during Aitch's* presidency, will we be asked to do this?

(*Bush was "Dubya," so Obama is "Aitch.")

The One isn't so hot. I don't like him one bit. I don't care if he has the flu and diarrhea this week.

Hell of way to spoil the pilot’s act of heroism and skill.

Sucks for the pilot.

Look at this! The press magically managed to get copies of the hero pilot's school records and IQ!
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,480250,00.html

The idiot at Fox who wrote this even intones that Sullenberger has “some explaining” to do because he missed 45 days of school in FIRST GRADE.

Anyone yet seen a transcript for elementary school, high school, college or law school or IQ test on Bambi???? (crickets)

And all they did was go on about African Americans, excuse me, was this election about race?

To Obama, it was and is all about Obama. But to a lot of other people, apparently it was all about race. Yet at the same time, if a real African American (Bambi ain't one, not by a long shot), particularly an openly conservative one, had been the candidate, none of this would be happening because the left would actually be very uncomfortable with him. Bambi is a white liberal with a suntan. He has white facial features, he has a white liberal background, he was brought up in a well-off family and shares all their attitudes and even personal habits. That's what the whites like about him and, to some extent, that's what a lot of blacks like about him, too. No darker than a paper bag, remember?

Following the aircraft landing analogy; then at the end of his term, Obama will have crashed and everyone will exit the country just before it sinks below the surface.

The fact that he hasn’t done anything is why they worship him. It’s easy to project all of these wonderful wishful things onto someone who has no history. It’s sort of like in my church; the ones who are criticized the most are the very ones who are keeping the church going. They are doing something and that makes them a target. The ones who are “bench warmers” are loved and petted.

if we are lucky it will be just four years. With the talk of repealing the two term limit of the President, we may be stuck with Stalin with a suntan for longer. If we are still a country.
