Breaking now of Fox News.
hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, you’re right.
i hope that everyone got out and there aren’t any pets in the cargo area.
can the boats gently nudge it up or at least support it?
i got my degree in engineering, can you tell? ha.
The USS Intrepid is about a block from the Manhattan side of the NY Waterway ferry from the Jersey side directly across.
That is a NY Waterway ferry in that shot. They were probably there on the crash site in less than two minutes. It practically landed on their dock.
I hope and pray everybody involved is SAFE and uninjured, and that no FReepers or their famiies were aboard...
Hate to miss what may be the last opportunity to point out: “Bush’s fault!”.
Shep is an idiot. He is the LAST guy to watch during a crisis. I recall him walking down Bourbon street telling everyone that NOLA had dodged a bullet.
What a maroon.
I worked in the 1970s for a company in Garland, Texas which operated a leased Cessna 337 Skymaster. My boss flew it to Gulfport, MS and made an instrument approach there. He didn’t notice anything unusual, but after returning we noticed that a fiberglass whip antenna just over the center of the windshield was missing. Looking closer we could see blood on the antenna stump. Seagull, without a doubt. A foot lower and the pilot would have had an unwanted passenger in the cabin.
YEA!
Shep says he’s getting reports that EVERYONE got off the plane.
What an absolute miracle.
Yes, good thing the “oceans stopped rising” when Zero was nominated.
There are some personnel from my company on board...we do not yet know the status of these folks....
I hope the data and voice recorders managed to make it. This is the first water landing of a commercial airliner in recent memory where the plane was intact afterwards.
There will be much to learn from this.
one would think that the messiah could do something. /s
wonder if he will appear on tv?
are the terrorists mind-controlling birds yet?
It doesn't get much better than that.
Bush parting shot.
Boy, talk about “on a wing and a prayer...”! That is an amazing photo - thanks!
Sounds like they may have got everybody off - wow! Now would be the time to try to save the plane. Not sure it would be a good idea to try to save the plane with folks still in it as long as it was just sinking slowly. If you don’t have enough equal support all the way around it could break up and sink quick!
That picture, bottom right, thats the forward slides being used as rafts as Airbus designed, the blow the slides, get everyone out on them and then cut them loose to float.
The Hudson is frozen a little further north...that water is frigid.
See post #170. Reports are everyone got off.
