Republicans and conservatives are in jeopardy of being "educated" out of existence. That begs the question, why in a county that is over 60% Republican and conservative, do we allow our local school system to be run by liberals? Yes, while conservatives have slept, the local school systems across the country, including ours, have been completely taken over by liberals.
It is not only the liberals alone that have made this possible. It is also RINO (Republicans in name only) that have supported these liberal policies and made it possible for them to dominate the school system. Locally RINO's like Chip Baker, Richard Casavant, Joe Conner, Claude Ramsey, etc. are prime examples of politicians that have posed as Republicans basically to get elected while supporting liberal school policies and tax increases. They have been given their marching orders by the local liberal power-structure. They always support the HCEA, NEA, and whatever "
EA" that they can. What organizations can you name that are more liberal than those? Not many.

The Jack Kemp effect?
Conservatives aren’t ‘gutless’ on most issues, but when it comes to standing up against liberals, phew.. I dunno. There’s a certain fatalism involved often, which gets the GOP and conservatives both in bad shape way too often.
The problem with government schools is not muerely that they TEACH Communism. They ARE Communism. Thus, even government schools with “conservatice” teachers infantilize parents, and teach collectivism, dependency, and godlessness.
The most effective weapon that the godless in America have wielded against Christianity is the confiscation of hundreds of billions of dollars from Christian mothers and fathers in order to warehouse their children for twelve years and teach them godlessness.
You said it! ...and so did the article. So there is hope.
kids are being de-educated
We better try a new approach. In breeding dogs; you can’t breed the bad out of the dog(example bad hips)but; you can breed the good in. That’s how you do it.
We need to start breeding the good back in.
People like William Ayers are plotting the course of the Education system - to dumb down the schools, keep children from acquiring skills or even learning how to think. They want obedient if dysfunctional robots for the communist utopia the leftists are planning. Ayers rightly figured out that he can be more destructive to America by getting into the Education racket than he could be by making bombs.
You sir have completely identified the problem. Conservatives either lack the courage of their convictions or are completely asleep at the wheel.
The problem is in the Christian community, that the calling of parents to teach their children (which includes schooling), which is Biblical and which is not the function of government in the Bible, has been ignored. The cost of paying double for Christian day schools plus also paying for the government system (with no benefit) is a heavy sacrifice. Home schooling, an additional option, calls for the same sacrifices in another way, more time than money.
Both Christian day schools and home schooling will be under further attack under the Obamination administration.
I have come to realize this is the biggest failure of the conservative movement of the last 30 years...allowing the liberals to dominate education EVEN IN CONSERVATIVE STATES.
So now that the problem has been identified...how is it going to be corrected?
I have been writing about and asking this question for YEARS!
The problem is that Conservative leadership has been trying to out-left the Socialist and have forgotten how to be Conservatives. Conservatives should ask if Obama is a king or a public servant. If private school is good enough for his children, then it is good enough for all children.
Did anyone hear McCain so much as mention School Vouchers this election? Did anyone hear him explain the negative impact illegals have on the education of the children of US citizens?
Perhaps I missed it, but I never heard anything close to that from McCain or Palin. So perhaps it may be to our benefit if we didn’t elect him to anything ever again and held back on the coronation of Sarah Palin as Queen of the Conservatives. Those who are really Conservative best stop playing with popularity and notoriety, like Liberals, and start voting for Conservative leaders whose actions are proof they will do as they say they will do.
We need Conservatives and we need fighters. If we don’t get a lot more Duncan Hunters and far fewer McCain’s elected in 2010, the demographics will have changed in such a way that 2012 won’t matter.
You should pay attention. If you google 'McCain Vouchers' in English over the past year there are more than 55,000 hits. Not a McCainiac, but let us try to get things correct.
May be of interest. (NEA+RINO’s+Public Schools)
So is anyone shocked! They shouldn't be. Who wants to go against the mainstream? What conservative will stick his neck out and what has he to say that strikes home to the liberals? Does he say put away your TV? How can he compete with the idea that government will give people everything so they can feel justice is met, that though they are not as wealthy and popular as a Brad Pitt, the government tried to reimburse them on some level?
This may seem far fetched but people will take everything if they feel they are owed it, even if they feel they aren't owed it. So what conservative will take candy from a baby? Or preach the hard line when people don't want the hard line? Sadly, conservatives have to fight on the liberal battlefield and that means having 1) good looks 2) youth 3) and the charismatic strength to make people forget their own tawdry life while still thinking about their own tawdry life.
Palin did it so there is hope.
Yeah, I agree.
I’m sure the NEA would try to hijack the voucher system though.
I’ve never been enrolled in public school and I do know what communism/socialism/Marxism is. (Its how you destroy a country)
The road ahead is indeed going to be very rough.
