One big problem is that almost all teachers have to major in something called "Education." Whether the potential teacher will teach math, English or science, the teacher first and foremost has to major in Education. The Education classes are undemanding and teach a lot of Marxism. A lot of bright people who would like to teach do not go that route because they do not want to major in something as dreary as Education.

People like William Ayers are plotting the course of the Education system - to dumb down the schools, keep children from acquiring skills or even learning how to think. They want obedient if dysfunctional robots for the communist utopia the leftists are planning. Ayers rightly figured out that he can be more destructive to America by getting into the Education racket than he could be by making bombs.

As the old saying goes: “Them what can’t do, teach. Them what can’t teach, teach teaching.

No, the big problem is that parents put up with Stalininst indocrination camps and don't give a damn what is being done to their own children.

If they did, they'd tell the accreditation agencies to take a flying leap and send their kids only to conservatively approved schools, while not giving a tuppenny darn whether any teacher had a degree in ethnomusicology or any other claptrap.

Ignore their procedures and use your own, and they are powerless. Period. It is all the parents' fault for putting up with this crap.

One big thing we could do is to automatically certify any grad student who has taught college freshman for a year to be qualified to teach the same subject in high school, with no need to get any Ed credits.

We should also automatically certify military personnel who have taught in the military.
