National “Health Care” at its best. Yes, I said at its best. It only goes downhill from there.
In all of these articles about this subject, they never mention the nature of the victim’s disability, only that he was “disabled.”
Shoddy reporting.
Oh Man!! How often does this happen when it’s not recorded? The fruits of Darwinism.
File this under, another reason not to believe government and the people it employs, will act in your best interests.
“
Absolutely disgusting what Britain has turned into.
Unfortunately, a lot of people in the US want us to be more like them.
No thanks!
“
Unfortunately, it’s already here in the USA.
It just hasn’t fulling rolled downhill from Professors like Peter Singer
of Princeton U. to the average working Joe/Josephine.
Of course, Singer is something of a hypocrite...and it’s a good thing
his mother (afflicted with Alzheimers) is well-cared for by her son.
And Singer hasn’t (yet) decided his mum’s “quality of life” is so
low that she should be euthanized.
Thanks Obama and dems! But of course federal and many state government employees are covered for life (w/COLA adjustments) under a different program than the average citizen can get or afford if we could buy it.
When BO’s government “healthcare” is instituted this will be standard procedure.
And it won't stop with just infants or the disabled, either.
I have made it perfectly clear to ALL people in my life, but just in case.....
NO GRAY ZONE WANTS TO LIVE. Don’t let ANYONE pull my plug!!!!
The Daily Mail gives more detail. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1103209/Pictured-The-disabled-man-left-die-paramedics-wasnt-worth-saving.html

The two ambulancemen who reached Barry Baker and found him unconscious are said to have been caught on tape discussing not bothering to revive him.
-snip-
Minutes later astonished dispatch centre staff heard their crew enter the house, apparently making disparaging comments about the state of the home.
A police source, who asked not to be named, said the ambulancemen were then heard over the phone discussing Mr Baker and allegedly saying ‘words to the effect that he was not worth saving’.

Mr Baker, who used sticks to walk after having hip replacement operations, made a 999 call in the early hours of November 29. He told the controller he had severe chest pains and the ambulance crew from Brighton was immediately sent to his home.

There’s more at the link, including photos.
Unfortunately, I’ve seen this despicable attitude expressed time and time again by people who claim they “wouldn’t want to live like that.” Their answer is never to help improve the quality of the person’s life, but to end it by the most efficient means available.
Decisions as to who lives and who dies are made every day in countries with nationalized health care.
Medics Caught on Tape Allegedly Decided Disabled Man Not Worth Saving
I don't see what the big deal is here.(3)
These two *Undocumented Doctors* (Medics) where just doing what actual MDs do every day under 'England's' socialized medicine - oops National Healthcare Service Trust. They were proactive and performed 'Triage'(1)(2) to save the NHS trust a ton of money it doesn't have.
Triage
(1) The determination of priorities for action in an emergency. A system used to allocate a scarce commodity, such as food, only to those capable of deriving the greatest benefit from it.
(2) Triage is also performed every Friday Night in Big City Trauma Centers across the USA when the natives go on drive-by killing sprees or after a major fire or accident.
(3) sarcasm / OFF
Didn’t hear this.
Was the guy long dead when they got there?
This is the outcome of a public policy that doesn’t firmly state that all life is of equal value. The left is so vulnerable in this way - they preach advocacy for the disabled yet they promote aborting babies who are less then perfect. Couple this with “right to die” activists, and it’s clear that respect for human life is diminishing.
This also illustrates the problem with people not having children and trusting the care in their old age to hired professionals who will never care about them as much as family might have. That wasn’t a problem when families remained geographically close and those who chose not to have children had brothers and sisters and nephews and nieces to keep an eye on them when they got old but small families don’t afford as many people that luxury.
As Social Security and Medi-Care money dries up, boomers reach retirement and avg life span increases there will be a louder call to examine the elderly’s quality of life and effect on society. Yearly exams can lead to fast euthanasia.
