If you don't want to hear from someone who's won a case or two in the Supreme Court, that's okay.He speaks as if we're beneath him.
He wants to be in Congress, and he has the attitude down pat.

I think I actually donated $25 to one of his campaigns once. Never again.

However, if he was under the influence, then he had something to fear about walking the line. The government should fear its citizens, not the other way around. Get it? ;-)

Still, you can find plenty of modern statutes that state "driving or operating", or have different sections relating to motor vehicles, stationary engines, and so on.A few posts back you mentioned the 'stationary engine' thing relating to a ferris wheel. A ferris wheel is full of people, who paid to be spun around. It could be powered by a water wheel or a hand crank, the passengers could still be injured or killed by unsafe equipment or negligent operation. Hence inspection and licensing. Working the controls of any piece of equipment, car, locomotive, ferris wheel, or rocket launcher is 'operating' it. A ferris wheel is not a car is not a suck pump, so different licensing categories exist.

Thanks for posting. Good info, I thought the erosion of our rights was bad, this confirms it is far worse. This from the victim of a third-timer DUI who following conviction and jail for hit-and-running us, went on and committed two more DUIs. Last I heard several years back, he had a $10,000 warrant out for his arrest.

How did we get to this point?
Hysteria?
I got to this point via realism. If I take one drink and drive, I could be arrested for DUI. Or, if I have a normal accident, I could be charged with some variety of murder.
That is just flat out not worth the risk.
But truth be told, its not that difficult. We have a designated driver, or celebrate at home only.

Do they have hereditary drivers licenses in your state?

I grew up with Barrett Law. Good for you.
"According to an article in the March 2003 McANA Common Ground, 6000 homes were foreclosed in year 2002. Some of those 6000 were homes that were required to replace their septic systems with sanitation sewer under the Barrett Law."

The breathalyzer test is, in fact, a DNA test. Try figuring out a way of no DNA being transferred to that tube you are blowing into........... You would be laughed out of court if you tried to claim that is a valid method of DNA collection. The breathalyzer is nothing but a rudimentary gas chromatograph.

Are you really that dense?
Continental monarchies granted all sorts of non-heritable titles giving certain subjects “privileges” .
To: KrisKrinkle
So the assertion that Driving a car is a PRIVILEGE, not a RIGHT is inaccurate because there is a right to drive a car.Your "right" to drive the car becomes a licensed privilege as soon as the car rolls onto a public street. You have a right to keep and bear arms, but don't walk into a court house or a post office will a loaded firearm. There are limits.

They used to hire peace officers to keep the peace.Having a LEO arrest a drunk driver is better than having him lynched by the family of someone he's just killed. Peace and due process.
