Creating 2 million new jobs at a price of $100 billion ( Obama plans this?)

The motto, fashioned by environmental groups' pining for the first 100 days of Barack Obama's presidency, envisions increased funding for alternative energy to go with regulations designed to clamp down on facilities powered by fossil fuels.

But pro-environment advocates also see a policy role in a "green recovery," in the form of federal outlays for new jobs in the alternative-energy sectors that would constitute a "massive" transition to an economy that looks favorably on emissions-free energy sources and rewards ways to save energy.

“Created jobs” have a half life of two years, or until the free pies runs out.

Why work when the created jobs are free.

Minimum Wage should be $40/hour.

Why not $400 / hr, or $4,000? Dream bigger, man!

The green jobs potential has been promoted by some very dubious economic “studies” - which in my opinion vastly overstate the potential, and thus understate the cost of such jobs. If Obama is conscious of not becoming the second term of Jimmy Carter he ought to look at the SynFuels debacle of the Carter years and the claims that were made to justify its funding.

It would be more efficient to give 2 million people $50k. The government will get it all back anyway..........

I remember CETA (Community Employment and Training Act) a federal project from the ‘70s that became a massive featherbed
for local ‘rat hacks.

Can’t wait to see the “fees” for all this “NEW” energy. You don’t think the government will abstain from taxing it, do you??

A Big Mac would be $50..............

And why shouldn't it be? Do you hate McDonals employees? Don't they deserve to make $48.77 profit on a Big Mac? You're just being greedy. ;-)

This stuff NEVER works...but it’s popular with a lot of people who don’t know any better.

Essentially, it’s like all the bailouts. Take the money out into the middle of the street, pour a lot of lighter fluid on it, apply the match, and you’re done.

That’s about it.
