Judge: Birth papers to list 2 fathers

NEW ORLEANS — A same-sex couple in California has won a federal court ruling that their adopted son’s Louisiana birth certificate must bear the names of both adoptive fathers.

The facts are so clear that no trial is needed, U.S. District Judge Jay Zainey wrote.

Louisiana’s Office of Vital Records must give full faith and credit to the New York State court in which Oren Adar and Mickey Ray Smith of San Diego adopted the boy, he ruled Monday. The office had refused to issue a birth certificate listing both as the boy’s legal parents. The state could appeal the decision.

Adar and Smith said they have practical and emotional reasons for wanting both of their names on the birth certificate of the boy, identified only as “J.C. A.-S.”

I wonder if Obama has 2 fathers on his birth certificate?

Guess we'll never know, because we'll never see it.

“As an adopted child myself, I understand the need a child has to feel like he or she belongs,” Smith wrote. “I remember as a child wanting to see my own birth certificate and to see my parents listed because it gave me a sense of belonging, a sense of identity and a sense of dignity.”

This doesn't make sense. The kid is never supposed to figure out the lie? There's obviously a woman in the picture somewhere.

More nonsense brought about by how someone feels. Now I feel sick.

Well, the fact that Jay Zainey is a jackass is pretty clear to me.

Of course, it makes sense to them. They are going to raise him as if this two father thing is normal and hope the kid becomes gay too so that he too, will see having two men listed as his parents as normal.

Of course, a child’s birth certificate should be all about the non-birth parents. Never mind that some genetic medical problem may turn up and the person and his doctors won’t have the truth to work from.

The facts are so clear that no trial is needed, U.S. District Judge Jay Zainey wrote.

The fact is, Judge Jay Zainey, that the child was born of a woman. A woman carried the child in her womb for approximately 9 months and then gave birth. A birth certificate should include the name of the mother and the name of the father. Anything else is utter nonsense! To state otherwise confirms that Judge Zainey has a disordered mind. When will adult supervision arrive in this country?

When you adopt, the birth certificate has the adoptive parents name on it, not the birth mothers and not the actual father.

The error here is back in New York where the adoption was even allowed. The judge, unfortunately I believe, has the law on his side.....God forgive us all.

A same-sex couple in California has won a federal court ruling....

Same-sex as definitive.

Bye Bye common sense for lack of direction has infiltrated our court system.
