Think nothing of it. Mention Lady Marines, and she comes immediately to mind. For me, she is the canonical Lady Marine.
It's just too bad the Marines didn't make full use of them in those days. I imagine she'd have looked right fine with an M-1 Carbine in her hands and a 1911A1 on her hip. :)

Oh I know, having been an Air Force Officer, one of whose "additional duties" was to eat at the mess hall when serving as a "duty officer" to be sure that the contractors (and the mess sergeants) were not serving the troops slop. Now I work on an Army post, and see that sort of thing all the time.

But I think this will be typical of how he treats the military, they'll get lip service, while he cuts their budgets and then their numbers, which are already pretty thin.

Don't mind me, I am just venting, you see the term “Christian Democrat” as far as I am concerned is a oxymoron. They can wave their arms in the air and say Praise Jesus, but if they are voting democrat they are spitting on God/Christ.
