...As Obama entered the room it was absent of the regular fanfare of cheering and clapping. The diners were polite; staying seated at their respective tables and waited for the President-elect to come to them to stand up...

President Bush makes a surprise visit to Marine base.
Your remarks about Women Marines is degrading. I served 5 years active duty and 10 in the reserves. 5’7” tall, 120 lbs, long blonde hair, blue eyes. Do I fit your stereotype of a female Marine? Get over it! Your attitude is what many of my fellow female Marines had to deal with on a daily basis. All we wanted to do was serve our country. I knew very few female Marines who looked like the woman in that picture. Not to mention the fact that the Marines have a very strict policy on tatoos. I very much doubt that that woman is a Marine. She could be in any of the other branches of the Military. She could be a dependant there eating with her spouse.
DOpey.
This picture reminds me of Hillary’s visit to the troops years ago...and John “Purple Heart” Kerry’s moment with Marines in that Wendy’s restaurant where he “picked up the tab” for the Edwards’ anniversary. Lol!
Hey DOpe — none of those Marines voted for you.
“Nope, much less than 10 miles...”
I served at MCAS Kaneohe Bay during ‘89 - ‘92 and lived in Kailua awaiting base housing.
You are correct.
If the house Obama is “renting” is closer to the back gate and Makapu Dr from Kailua Bay then it is at least 4 but no more than 5 miles to the fitness center or the then Mess Hall which was named after MOH Recipient Major Stephen Pless USMC.
Say what you will about President Bush, his public persona and his private persona were the same. Not so with President-elect Obama.
Has someone taken the time to teach Obama the proper way to salute?
Wow...Now THAT’S a reach, not to mention a slap at my man Ronnie. To make that assertation is absurd.
This makes me throw up in my mouth a little.
Makes me reach for a bucket.
I dunno. . .but can someone recall when the last president-elect visited troops at Christmas and even sent a message to the troops?
I simply can’t recall if other president-elects did this.
Anyone?
Bush certainly has a lot of influence with the troops...just look at how he got all those Marines to wear Army uniforms ;-)
assertation=assertion
Pardon my wordsmithing!!
Well, when you make a big deal out of having “Christian beliefs” during you campaign, doing otherwise would tend to indicate pandering to get Christian votes. I believe that was the purpose of the post ...
Obama is a lying fraud, an effeminate Marxist, and well trained Marines know an enemy is near.
I remember the picture from Hillary Clinton’s visit to Iraq where the guy was smiling for the photo but had the symbol for acting under duress with his crossed fingers. Anyone still have that?
