Feds Cite Schumer In Collapse Of IndyMac
An important angle in the IndyMac failure that may get lost in ominous headlines tonight and tomorrow: federal regulators pointedly cited U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., in explaining the bank's failure. In simple language, federal regulators blamed Schumer for a run on the bank.

Ah Smuckie Schumer my U.S. Senator, what representation. and soon to be the more “contemplative” of our two NYS U.S. Senators. (as in contemplating which person to knock over to get to the TV camera). Yikes.

Very good post. I’d add Jimmah Carter to the mess. He got the Fanny and Freddie organizations through congress, and Clinton gave it a big boost. Needless to say, the MSM never mentions that.
The fifth column enemedia will see to it that they spread enough lies to prevent the demise of the bastards at the heart of the mayhem thier schumer scum started. Indymac may have failed anyway, but it would have been well into Spring of ‘09 if scumSchumer hadn’t revealed the material he had in confidential files his Senate Committee was collecting. The American people will not be allowed to connect the dots that this economic collapse is squarely the brainchild of the demcorat party. HOWEVER, the facts will be exposed in the foreign press and we Freepers had better bring it to FR for readers who can spread the truth. I expect Melanie Phillips at spectator UK to expose a whole lot of this in the coming weeks. She has a web page at spectator.uk.com
....And nothing will happen to him, or Chis Dodd, or Barney Frank. The voters are balloon heads and rock groupies.
Good ole Charles “Chuck You” Schumer.
But, but but butttt the New Yark Times PROVED that the eeevilll genius behind all of this was BUSH! It was there in black on white in yesterday’s bird cage floor covering. I mean if we can’t trust “All the news and smears we see fit to print” then who can you trust for Pinch/Punch’s sake?
But but but that paragon of journalistic integrity, the New York Times, said it was Bush’s fault! How can this be?
Heh heh, very similar posts by us mere seconds apart (see the one after yours)...
“Little did they know what they have started.....
Its going to be hard to stop this snowball effect!!!”
YES, THE SNOWBALL EFFECT...
The historial record in these matters offers little encouragement for the authors of this economic meltdown, which I would compare to the assassination of the Austrian nobleman that started a snowball effect ending in the First World War.
In the end, the truth will be known and WOE TO THE EVIL!
Rush brought this up today - and about darn time. I’ve thought this was an Oct Surprise for a long time (well, at least since August).
Now the question in my mind is, will Schumer-villes be a hard enough reality to cause the death of liberal relativism?
Man,I hope so...
“But but but that paragon of journalistic integrity, the New York Times, said it was Bushs fault! How can this be?”
I do believe this is Item#1 in the Democommie playbook entitled, “Blame it on Bush.” In an earlier age it was called, “Blame it on Hoover.” And in the 1930s it worked.
But will it work again? I recall playing chess with a friend and used a series of moves that gave me a checkmate very quickly. I thought I was on to something good. Then in the next game I played with him I tried the same deal with only a minor modification, which resulted in me being checkmated in a few moves.
Some in the Senate are prurient of nature and get their jollies exercising their offices for their own sick agenda.
Discussion earlier of Chuck’s loose letter would question why was it released at all?
Normally, they weren’t? What was to be gained by its release?
Controlled induced financial chaos?
Perhaps, that is a category the dems are all-time leaders in.
I read that 20% of NY’s revenues come from taxes on Wall Streeters.
Governor Paterson’s answer: raise more taxes opn consumer goods that will mightily impact the “working poor” plus another raise in gas taxes!
Can they investigate whether or not UpChuck had a short position on IndyMac?!

Raul Castro has started to hand over unproductive state owned land to private farmers and co-operatives in a bid to boost production and cut food imports.
The Center for Responsible Lending issued an attack on Indymac within a few days of Schumers letter. CRL is part of a small army of left of center research groups, community organizers, and public interest law firms who make their living accusing home lenders of racial redlining and predatory lending. On June 20th the Center accused Indymac of unfair practices regarding minority borrowers.
Collusion?
One might think that this is why Chuckie was so quick to seem so compliant with Paulson's plan. To cover for the fact that he was the one who started the steep dive the banks took.
