Ford said that while it is working to aggressively reduce costs it will continue to invest heavily in product development, including approximately 14 billion dollars over the next seven years to improve the fuel economy of its vehicles.

This is the sort of corporate leadership we need more of.
Now get out there FReepers, and go buy a Ford! :)

Now get out there FReepers, and go buy a Ford! Nope.
It's run by the same UAW weenies who are bent on strangling the whole industry. Ford will probably just be the last to go.
I'm buying non-union from now on.

Ford has decided that they really don’t want the strings that would be attached to the bailout.

Just bought a 2008 F250 Super Duty 4X4 four weeks ago.. almost $11k off the sticker price. I was a GM fan for years but in 1998 I bought my first Ford truck and I would never go back.

another post about the situation, Orange1998 is saying:
Just across the wire. Ford now demanding 9 Billion credit line.

My 1996 Mercury Marquis has 57,000 original miles on it. Got it off Dad. I call it the “Old Fart Go Kart”. They’re a great car.

To be perfectly honest, I hate FORD, have hated Ford since my 1996 POS Taurus which spent more time in the shop than it did on the road; BUT of late, I’ve decided to become a LOYAL Ford customer from this point forward. I think my next car will be a Ford, and I will have it serviced by Ford. I hope others reward Ford with consumer loyalty for their outstanding, stand up behavior in this situation.

Thinking of trading in my H3 on a Land Rover as soon as all this blows over.. A label that has withstood the test of time. The fit on the H3 is really coming lose after about 15k miles, trim is lose, carpets pulling up.. just not that attention to detail one would expect from a vehicle of its price.

the f250 might be my next purchase, just very worried about the 6.4L holding together, ever since Ford left the 7.3L, nothing but issues.

People who are looking at long term play on a stock.. FORD has been a bargain for a long time now as far as I’m concerned. Yes its not a short term play, its a VERY LONG TERM play, but its worth the gamble in my book.
