Arkansas mom Michelle Duggar gives birth to 18th child

ROGERS, Ark. – An Arkansas woman has given birth to her 18th child.

Michelle Duggar delivered the baby girl by Caesarean section Thursday at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. The baby, named Jordyn-Grace Makiya Duggar, weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces and was 20 inches long.

"The ultimate Christmas gift from God," said Jim Bob Duggar, the father of the 18 children. "She's just absolutely beautiful, like her mom and her sisters."

The Duggars now have 10 sons and eight daughters.

Jim Bob Duggar said Michelle started having contractions Wednesday night. She needed the C-section, her third, because the baby was transverse. Jim Bob said both baby and mother were doing well Thursday night.

"We both would love to have more," he said.

Jim Bob Duggar is 43, a year older than his wife. Their oldest child, Joshua, is 20.

The other Duggar children, in between Joshua and Jordyn-Grace, are Jana, 18; John-David, 18; Jill, 17; Jessa, 16; Jinger, 14; Joseph, 13; Josiah, 12; Joy-Anna, 11; Jeremiah, 9; Jedidiah, 9; Jason, 8; James, 7; Justin, 6; Jackson, 4; Johannah, 3; and Jennifer, 1.

"Our whole family is excited about Jordyn's addition to our family," Jim Bob Duggar said. "She's just perfect in every way."

Wow. My grandmother was one of 11...she was the only girl. I don’t know if she appreciated all the cooking, darning, etc. that she had to do for those brothers of hers! However, I must say that she was the most talented homemaker I’ve ever known - she could make anything from anything.

A bunch of my coworkers in Little Rock all dressed up as the Dugger family for Halloween, it was one of the funniest things I've seen. They even got the personalities down.

(these are just a few, they actually had 19 folks, including mom and dad).

Not very often that I read about someone who has more kids than we do.

When I hear about a family like this, I think of St. Catherine of Siena, a great saint, who among other things persuaded the Pope to return from the Exile if Avignon to Rome.

St. Catherine was the 25th child of her parents.

Agree......my Grandmother never had a drivers license or drove a vehicle of any kind. She always sent Grandpa after groceries etc .....She really was a stay at home mom yet they loved to travel when the last kid left the nest ! Large families these days are rare. Blessings to your family for a Merry Christmas !

Stay safe !

This family has more control over their 18 kids than most people can have over one. The children are smart, well mannered, and respectful. Everytime another Dugger is born someone comes out and feels compelled to judge them. They don’t ask for a dime from anyone. I think the naysayers are just jealous. This family is awesome, God Bless them.

Call me cynical

Ok, you are cynical. ;)

I don't care why they had the baby, but it looks like the baby is well loved and provided for. Everything except congrats to the family is none of our damn business.

This begs the question...

How many kids do you have? :)

I’ve never seen their TV show and wouldn’t know them from Adam and Eve, but I love them just for the fact that their very existence drives liberals to raving fits of insanity. I hope they have many more.

My wife and I don’t have the time, patience, or energy for one yet, how in the world do you and others do it? I always find it interesting how families with lots of kids like the Duggers also seem to be the most organized and ‘with it’. Their homes are perfect, the cloths are always ironed, and they have time to go to all the events like soccer games, softball, etc..

How????????

Totally agree with you ! God’s blessings on the Dugger’s and a happy Merry Christmas to each of those bundles of joy!

Wow, talk about being fruitful and multiplying.

I've always wanted a very large family, but life has had other plans.

Very envious of the Duggars and the life they have. =-)

Well, the older kids take care of their younger brothers and sister, and they also seem to enjoy taking care of their nieces and nephews when they come over.

No one is ever bored.

We have 13 kids, and 12 grandchildren, going on 14. Frankly the only difficult part is finding the money to put them through college. Not being designated minorities, we don’t get scholarships to speak of, not even for the two kids who were National Merit Scholars (and another who was a runner-up).

Maybe Mark Morford will have another flaming meltdown.

This woman drives far left libs to screaming hatred. They pay their own way, have a happy, healthy family, go to church, and bless most everyone around them.

Something to insult every far left type.
