ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The tight Minnesota U.S. Senate race between Republican incumbent Norm Coleman and Democratic challenger Al Franken has become incredibly close -- with Coleman clinging to a two-vote lead.
That's the latest tally after the state Canvassing Board spent a third day ruling on disputed ballots. There are hundreds of challenges yet to decide, as well as thousands of withdrawn challenges that have yet to be tallied.
Coleman had entered Thursday's session leading Franken by 360 votes. But that lead eroded all day as the board considered a pile of challenges brought entirely by the Coleman campaign. The pile included a big chunk of withdrawn challenges, many of which went quickly to Franken's column.

I have been saying ALL ALONG that Norm will win by 1 vote - MINE!
I think that goes without saying.
No, we are in Kenya.
"Let me tell you about Florida politicians. I make them, I make them out of whole cloth, just like a tailor makes a suit. I get their name in the newspaper. I get them some publicity and I get their name on the ballot. Then, after the election, we count the votes, and if they don't turn out right, we recount them again until they do"--Edward G. Robinson to Humphrey Bogart in Key Largo
Examples?
You know, I read the same thing about Republicans over at DU. Hmmmmm.
Actually, it looks to me like 2 different people filled in the dot. Don’t you always make the same style of fill in?
Here are several examples of the lunacy that is currently going on:

That particular ballot was counted for Coleman, though, so what’s the problem?

And the democrat marxists and foolish rinos love Stalin and have done well in fixing elections with all this provisional balloting, early and late and even allowing illegals and illegals votes to be counted. The pubs are simply to weak and refuse to stand up, only the true conservatives are people who stand up to the evil left and middle rino parties.
We have 4 years to set up a new conservative party with real conservative candidates and that is not the republican party.
Again, we have 4 years to set up a new conservative party or the republicans will lose again by running more liberals than ever.
And, how about the people of Minnesota? Doesn't this rest squarely on their shoulders?
It actually grew quite a bit before the canvassing started, to over 700 votes, but the canvassing process thus far has shrunk it. I’ve been watching bits and pieces of the canvassing board online, and it’s been very fair so far. Of the five members, two are Republicans, one is a DFLer, one is an Independent (appointed by Ventura), and one is a judge elected in a non-partisan election (though, in reality, I’m sure she’s a liberal also). So, it’s 2-2-1 split.
If someone cast NO vote for the race, I see NO reason to “assume” that they “intended” to vote for Franken just because they voted for Obama.
The fundamental principle of a Constitutional Republic is being destroyed before our eyes. Political theory tells us that in a republican form of government power is vested in the electorate, composed of eligible voters, who determine who the representatives will be who form the governing body. It is clear from this election, as well as others (the WA state governor's election in '04, the Indiana congressional race for the 8th district in '84) that this principle no longer applies. The electorate is not choosing the representatives. They are being chosen by others (e.g., canvassing boards, elections supervisors, etc.), judges of "voter intent", etc. That it is being done under the guise of "fairness" and "counting every vote" and "divining voter intent" makes it all the more pernicious. When that happens, you no longer have a Republic. This is where we are today.
I appreciate your rationality. I’ve seen my state’s election process repeatedly disparaged because of this, but I think it actually proves that we do indeed have one of the best systems in the country. It was a close election, so everyone is quick to yell fraud, but I believe that it was this close. We had terrible choices, and a result there was a lot of undervoting in this election. I personally could not bring myself to vote for Coleman due to a mix of personal and political reasons, and I of course couldn’t vote for Franken.
Will someone please explain to me now if there is actually any chance Norm Coleman can still win this election?
The Franken/Pawlenty team keeps picking up votes.........
