Tunes For The Troops
Trans-Siberian Orchestra (often abbreviated as TSO) is a rock orchestra founded by Paul O'Neill, Robert Kinkel, and Jon Oliva in 1996. The band's musical style is often described in different terms, incorporating progressive rock, symphonic metal, and heavy metal, with influences from classical music.
The group is based in New York City, but frequently tours worldwide. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra is known for its renditions of traditional Christmas songs.
Some of their best known works include such songs as "Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24" (a rendition of "Carol of the Bells" and "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" originally featured on Savatage's 1995 album, Dead Winter Dead), "Christmas Canon", and "Wizards in Winter", all of which are popular selections of radio DJs during the Christmas season.
This music is provided for the entertainment of our Troops, Veterans, Allies & their families!
Enjoy the varity of musical selections that the Canteen Deejays have provided throughout the thread. Please ping LaurenMarlowe with your requests for the Troops.
All music is removed on Monday. Thanks to all the DeeJay's for their time & effort providing entertainment for the Troops!
*Canteen Mission Statement*

I heard a Christmas carol on the radio the other day, and wondered who it was. Afterward the announcer said it was Jewel. Well, now I can’t remember what song it was. I remember that it was one of the classics. Any idea what it might have been?

“Anyone else stumped in Christmas gifts?”
Yes. 2 more presents to go and I’m stuck. Guess it will be books or music CDs.

I mean, it was a remake of one of the classics. And it was pretty good too.

Yeah, I usually do a short set down on Music Row on Thursdays so I rarely remember to post that. “Nashville’s Legendary Bobby’s Idle Hour” - a loveable dive full of great writers on many nights (and days as well). My good friend Mike Mayo has been putting on half-hour “artists’ showcases” a couple nights a week at a “nicer dive” and been gracious enough to include me. I’m more than happy to go wherever they’ll have me!
Thanks for noticing, Connie.
