A source said today that Gov. Rod Blagojevich was taken into federal custody at his North Side home this morning. The U.S. attorney's office would not confirm the information, and a spokesman for the governor did not immediately return a phone call for comment.

By "first lady", is the article you are referencing talking about Mrs. Blagojevich or the charming and gracious Michelle.

Gov. Rod Blagojevich on Thursday cited the potential for bad “karma” and avoided discussing potential Senate successors to Barack Obama should the Democratic nominee win the White House, but acknowledged he has a process in mind for making the most important appointment of his career.
“I just don’t want to jinx him and I don’t like the karma of me thinking that far ahead,” Blagojevich said of Obama ‘s prospects in Tuesday’s election. The governor added, “We have had some discussions about a process which we’ll share ... if all goes well.”

Here is what it looks like to me. The Tribune was caught up in this after Fitz was already tapping phones. They were questioned by the FBI and then tipped off the O team about their conversation with the FBI. But who tipped off Fitz?
Rahm, Obama and Axelrod have been advisors to Blago for years!
Obama was for Michele’s former boss, Valerie, Iranian-Chicagoan. Jesse Jax, Jr. worked on Obama’s campaign. Both wanted the senate seat. Don’t know if they wanted to buy it.

Somebody BOUGHT that senate seat for Obama. He had to run but it was a done deal. Valuable seat, that Illinois seat.
