[history]
A source said today that Gov. Rod Blagojevich was taken into federal custody at his North Side home this morning. The U.S. attorney's office would not confirm the information, and a spokesman for the governor did not immediately return a phone call for comment.

Yeah, that part was implied. The bodies face is probably mangled so his mother can’t give him an open casket, too (again- implied).

Besides, the Goose Island boys are just down the road from the metalwork shop where Blago’s old man worked, that is, just down the road from Blago’s “aw shucks I’m just a regular guy” heart-strings-tugging photo-op shop. So he couldn’t very well let the Republic Windows boys twist in the wind.

"I'm going to keep this Senate option for me a real possibility, you know, and therefore I can drive a hard bargain."
He added later that the seat "is a [expletive] valuable thing, you just don't give it away for nothing."

I could never remember the spelling and pronounciation of this one.
Me neither. I just spell it Goblowabitch.

But, Blago could have made the offer to Opossum. Doesn't it usually work the other way around? Blago had something to offer ( the senate seat), and was taking bids; Obamo offered the cabinet position or ambassadorship in exchange for putting his choice in.

Frank, Dodd, Pelosi, Boxer, Feinstein, Reid, and 98% of the US Congress should be taken into custody for corruption, misuse of taxpayer dollars, and destruction of the American Constitution.

Chicago: The Capitol of political Corruption!!!As it happens, my grandfather was at one time an Illinois State Rep from Chicago. It was too dirty for him even back then so he returned to private practice.

Illinois now has more politicians in jail or headed for jail than New Jersey. They are a real model for governing the rest of the country! What we need is a president from Illinois.
Ya, they re going to transform and reorganize the prison system from within.

"This is a Patrick Fitzgerald case. I guess he isnt the liberal savior after all."
I get the feeling that Fitz wants Blago's Job. He has now taken out two Governors and has battered one president with the Plame Game. Now he can blackmail (can we still say that or is it ethnically divers mail?) the sitting president. Fitz has an ego the size of the Sears Tower and would love to be seen as the "Savior" of the political system.

What is "Change to Win"?
Later on November 5, Blagojevich said to Advisor A, "I've got this thing and it's [expletive] golden, and, uh, uh, I'm just not giving it up for [expletive] nothing. I'm not gonna do it. And, and I can always use it. I can parachute me there," the affidavit states.
Two days later, in a three-way call with Harris and Advisor B, a consultant in Washington, Blagojevich and the others allegedly discussed the prospect of a three-way deal for the Senate appointment involving an organization called "Change to Win," which is affiliated with various unions including the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).

FoxNews just interviewed some Joe Blow from the street. “I’m really shocked. I voted for him, blah blah blah”.
The only thing that “shocks” me is that he was actually arrested.
