As gun sales shoot up around the country, President-elect Barack Obama said Sunday that gun-owning Americans do not need to rush out and stock up before he is sworn in next month.
...
But National Rifle Association spokesman Andrew Arulanandam said it's not Obama's words but his legislative track record that has gun-buyers flocking to the stores.
...
"Anyone who thinks they need to rush out and buy a firearm clearly has not been paying attention to how quickly we make progress on this issue. We don't think these are first-time buyers. We think they are people who already have more than enough guns at their homes to protect themselves and are buying more."

“Relax ladies and gentleman. The Titanic is unsinkable.” In other words, STOCK UP on guns and ammo folks!
“We think they are people who already have more than enough guns....” There it is. Some guns owners have MORE than enough, and ‘the one’ isn’t going to want them to have more.
Sounds like an adjustable choke.

To quote Phil Gramm: "I have more guns than I need, but not as many as I want."
Meh.
I’d rather buy ammo for what I have ....
That should be the choke. That controls the spread of shot that comes out of the muzzle. The smaller (or tighter) the choke, the closer together the shot is coming out of the barrel.
You know: Them, They, Those and a whole host of unidentified people or facsimiles.
It’s a choke. They come in several ‘flavors’.
Designed to determine how quickly the shot pattern spreads.
Should have a designation on it. IC (improved cylinder), modified, full, etc.
That’s a choke, for adjusting the pattern of the shot. For home defense, remove that choke - you want as wide as possible. Chokes will tighten the spread.

Exactly.
Yeah, sure Ø, I believe everything you say.
Meanwhile Ø’s saying “It’s going to get worse”???
Well, everyone who was paid to vote for you or was dumb enough to vote for you, thought it was going to get instantly better.
Running a country isn’t as easy as you though is it dimwit?
“Obama: Gun owners do not need to stock up”
Too late!
More info than you probably need about shotgun chokes.
If the gun is for home defense, you might wish to remove it, but at in-home ranges it won't make a realistic difference.
This actually scares me worse than if Obama would not have commented on this issue at all. It’s as if he’s trying to use misdirection in order to lull people to sleep.
That’s something called a thread protector. It protects the threads inside the barrel.
The threads are there so you can fit devices known as “chokes” which alter the pattern and density of the shot cloud you’re firing.
Take a hike Hussein. You're not a friend of any Constitutionalist. I will do as I please.
BLOAT! BLOAT! BLOAT!
The price of ammo is going up daily. It will be the currency of the future. Buy it while you can.
That’s a good one too, but I liked the first one best. :o)
“Id rather buy ammo for what I have ....”
Wise. I read months ago that Obama had said he would be for a ban on the manufacture of ammo. So he would not go about collecting guns because there wouldn’t be any need if folks can’t get the ammo for the guns they have!
Of course then Biden said Obama won’t take his gun. No, sure he wouldn’t. Won’t be any need to.
If you can't trust the President Elect, who can you trust?
So now YOU can all stop buying ammo so the price can come down between now and January.
So I can find it cheap.
