California officials are planning to investigate whether the Mormon church gave an accurate accounting of its role in the campaign that succeeded in getting a same-sex marriage ban approved in the state.
The action by the California Fair Political Practices Commission came in response to a complaint filed two weeks ago by a gay rights activist. Fred Karger, founder of Californians Against Hate, accuses the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of failing to report the value of the work it did to support Proposition 8. Roman Porter, the agency's executive director, said Monday that the decision to open an investigation does not mean staff members have determined there was any wrongdoing, only that Karger's complaint merits further inquiry.
A representative from the Salt Lake City-based church could not be reached for comment.

Given the very well documented, unchristian and abhorrent "marriage" practices taught and practiced by Joe Smith and Brigham Young, including teaching that Jesus was a Polygamist and father of many children, you mormons simply will not be allowed to usurp position as "Christian Champions of the Family".
This kind of silly accusation has been leveled at us and answered literally thousands of times, since the time of Joseph Smith, so I won't waste my time on it.

As far as "victim status", it seems that the facts speak for themselves. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has certainly not been the only target of this Gay Rights protest crap, and our hearts go out to all those who have suffered from it.

Actually I have a letter in my possession where one Stake President Christopher Rock of an Anchorage Alaska stake told me that I do not have authority to resign my daughters from the church because they are over the age of 8 years old. He asserts that the right of the church to retain my 10 and 12 year old daughters exceeds my right as a father to resign them. Since then I have have had 4 visits to my house from mormons asking to see my girls. I have the proof. this will likely wind up in the courts. i suppose you will brush this off as "consequences" as well.

I am. I am a direct descendant of Martin Harris. I grew up in the church in Utah. I served faithfully until the age of 37 in numerous callings including SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER, and BISHOPRIC MEMBER. I was FAITHFULLY trying to disprove quotes like the ones I just gave you when i found they were true, and I had been lied to my whole life.

Joseph Smith wrote the FLDS Book of Mormon. Joseph Smith and Brigham Young developed the FLDS version of Polygamy and psychological brainwashing and control techniques. The truth is the FLDS are much less ashamed and more honest about Joseph Smith and Brigham young than the LDS.
This stigma is the mormons to deal with, not we Christians. We wouldn't ask for help from the klan because their baggage will be used against us, and we don't accept your help either, ESPECIALLY THIS TOPIC WITH YOUR HISTORY.
Prop 8 is not about Mormons, it is about gay marriage.

Who cares if the LDS'ers get special treatment? If the mods want to give them special treatment, then so be it. If they decide to give me special treatment, then so be it. They are the ones who are enforcing the wishes of the owner. Give them the respect they are due. If they want to head off a thread hijacking before it begins, and if that means pulling posts before they are read, then that is their prerogative.
