Two massive books by Lamar Waldron and Thom Hartmann, most recently Legacy of Secrecy have me going back to the Mob hit theory although I just dont buy their unnecessary post-assassination cover-up theory which involves a supposed coup against Castro. Like that was more shameful than the murder of a president. But theyve done a service by digging up the deepest, darkest, most disturbing archival evidence to support their Mob hit theory.
Anyway, Im interested: what do people think, those of you who still think about it? Some may say, who cares well never know, its old news, but Im not satisfied with that. Historical truth means a lot to me. At one point LBJ said nuclear war was at stake. I want to know if there was someone behind Oswald and why. Its more important than how Yale could allow Harvard to score two touchdowns (and two two-point conversions) in 42 secondsthough I still cant reconcile myself to that either...

I had the same question, and I thought the same thing.
You can't really tell from the available information.
Probably not .380ACP
.38 ACP introduced c.1900 more powerful than the later .380, but overshadowed by the 9mm Parabellum and .45ACP: which were both more powerful
.38 Super c.1927 More powerful development, but not significantly enough to replace the now well established 9mm Para or .45.
One year it is the “magic bullet” another year it is the “police radio acoustics,” and so on.
I know that reasonable people do often disagree.
Whatever role Oswald may have had in the murder, I simply will never concede that he acted alone (if at all) in the matter. It defies logic, and in my view common sense to hold such a position based on the evidence. My eyes do not always lie to me.
I think that it is simply awful what happened, and I also think that the Kennedy assassination brought an end to the greater potential of this nation.
The later murders of RFK and MLK have largely added to that and to tremendous cynicism that (I sense) prevails (particularly on the left). The fact is (I believe it is a fact) that people are completely jaded concerning the whitewash of the JFK murder conspiracy.
I have read a bit on the matter, and I happen to think that the Oliver Stone flick (for example) (and threads such as this one )has done a great disservice to all Americans. No surprise there.
As for me being a smart ass, certainly I have proved that long ago out here.
I wish that I had more time to engage.
Executive Order 11110.
Jackie shot him because he was screwing around on her.
Lee Harvey Oswald did it, he’s dead.

Unsolved History: JFK, Beyond The Magic Bullet
In addition to my post 174, there are 53 pieces of evidence that make Oswald the killer, the odds that 53 pieces of evidence would point to an innocent man defies logic, the odds would have so many zero’s it would take a page to post them.
Witnesses saw Oswald firing, a cop saw the rifle being pulled back in the window, there were 2 men directly beneath Oswald on the 5th floor. They said the noise was overwhelming. As it happens they were working on the floor and it was thin, the witness testified to a BOOM, a click, click, BOOM, and a click, click BOOM - BEFORE THE WEAPON WAS EVEN FOUND. More bad luck for Oswald, 2 witnesses below him testified to the action of Oswald’s rifle before anyone knew it was a Manlicker-Carcano. They even said they could hear the shells hitting the floor. This information is VERY UNPOPULAR with conspiracy profiteers, they never print it, but it’s part of the record.
I’ve been watching the mock trial too, I’m on part 15. I’ve also been re-reading Case Closed.
Oswald was quite the whack-job, defecting to Russia, when his novelty with the locals wore off returned to the U.S. He felt both systems were equally flawed, like a pure Marxist he believed the USSR wasn’t implementing Marxism properly. He believed he would get tremendous press when he returned, he had written out answers to his questions for the throngs of reporters he expected to greet him, he was humiliated when no one was there to meet him at the airport.
He kept a diary he called the “Historical Diary”. His next “mission” was to try to get into Cuba to fight for Castro. Castro was his next great hope of a pure Marxist society, he had a picture of Castro on the wall of his apartment.
He made it to Mexico and caused a scene at the embassy trying to get passage into the USSR and then into Cuba, the Russians had him pegged as a nut and denied him. Oswald was the classic political assassin, totally deluded and absorbed with making a mark on history. He thought himself as superior, he was starved for attention, was a pathological liar, constantly wrote to Gus Hall and the communist party telling of his works for the Fair Play for Cuba committee. He told them they had meetings and were getting new members, the truth was he was the only member.
He died at 24, he was in the New York Times when he defected, had drawn attention to himself getting arrested for disturbing the peace handing out pro-Castro fliers, he was interviewed for TV. He then did a radio debate against an anti-Castro leader who exposed his prior lies on a radio interview about his Marine service and the time he spent in Russia. He was devastated by this humiliation, as well as his series of low paying jobs from which he was always fired.
He constantly beat his wife Marina, wouldn’t let her learn English, when he got mad he made her write letters to the USSR embassy to try and get them back into Russia. The Russian community in Russia felt bad for Marina and disliked Oswald, they gave her clothes for their baby and routinely bought her food. This infuriated Oswald as well, there is so much about Oswald it’s astounding. If he were alive today he would have 50,000 + posts on DU.
He staked out General Walker, taking pictures of his home before attempting to assassinate him, the bullet hit part of the lattice on Walkers window and singed his head, if not for Walker’s luck he would have been Oswald’s victim and not Kennedy.
Russian community in Russia
_______________
Should read the Russian community in TEXAS.
Without their kindness, Marina and her baby would have been starving. They threatened to stop supporting her if she went back with Oswald. When she did they stopped supporting her for a while.
Quaker Ruth Paine in Irving took her in while she was pregnant with their second child and took care of her while Oswald lived in a rooming house in Dallas. Oswald would visit on weekends.
The only time he didn’t call for permission to visit was before the assassination, he begged for a reconciliation and Marina refused. He might not have killed Kennedy if she said yes.
When he left to kill Kennedy he left Marina 170 dollars (a fortune for Oswald) and left his wedding ring in a cup on the dresser along with the money, he had never taken his wedding ring off before.
Odd behavior for an “innocent” man, Oswald did it and did it alone.
Astounding compilation of links, pictures, evidence, debunking of conspiracy theories, witness testimony, television shows, radio debates, etc.
Great bookmark for the JFK Assassination.
A two year old B.H. Obama shot JFK from the storm drain to stop Attorney General Robert Kennedy from outing Obama for not being a Natural Born Citizen.
Johnson was just as crooked as Clinton.

This is the guys homepage, he has collected everything imaginable, many rare pictures of the bloody limousine, etc. (most posted in his thread).
He has just about every tv and radio announcement from the day of the assassination, it would take months to go through all the stuff he has compiled. He’s a big Kennedy fan and has read everything, of course he believes Oswald acted alone.
The trajectories say Oswald did it plus the dispatcher for the railroad who watched from the tower said there was no one behind the fence. He stated there were two people on the street side of the fence. One was the Dealy Plaza groundskeeper.
P.S. LBJ didn’t do it. He was riding in the next limo.

Apologies to the National Enquirer.

“It defies logic, and in my view common sense to hold such a position based on the evidence. My eyes do not always lie to me.”
You must be talking about the head snap, which in my youth and ignorance once had me convinced that something wasn’t right. I suggest you compare the position of Kennedy’s head in frames 312 and 313 of the Zapruder film. As for the remainder of the more than 100 seperate pieces of evidence pointing to Oswald as not only guilty but as having acted alone, I see no violations of logic or common sense. In fact, I am more inclined to say it is a violation of common sense and logic to beliueve the opposite. As another poster pointed out, what are the odds that there would be so much reliable evidence against one man and no hard evidence against anyone else?
The front means the railroad bridge where two police officers and more than a half dozen railroad workers were standing.
Again for the zillionth time, the trajectories don’t match.
