U.S. President-elect Barack Obama has asked former U.S. Senate Democratic Leader Tom Daschle to be the next health secretary, Roll Call reported Wednesday.
The report is the latest in a constant stream of speculation on how Obama will build his cabinet.
Roll Call quoted unidentified sources as saying Daschle has accepted the offer.
Daschle was ousted from his South Dakota Senate seat in 2004 and is currently a special policy adviser for the law firm Alston Bird, a visiting professor at Georgetown and distinguished senior fellow at the Center for American Progress.

U.S. President-elect Barack Obama has asked former U.S. Senate Democratic Leader Tom Daschle to be the next health secretary, Roll Call reported Wednesday. I thought Daschle went away for good. Another reason to go buy some Tylenol and Tums.

This is good. We have large files on all of these clowns, we know how they operate.
And it’s looking like the Obama presidency will be an official disaster if the Republicans grow a backbone and smack them down with every foolish step they make.
I’m looking forward to 2010 :)

Ahhh, the return of Tom “Puff” Daschle.
Obama promised “change”, and it’s just more of the same.
I have some friends of mine from Cape Girardeau who are grade school and high school friends with Rush, and they keep in touch to this day. When Rush had his 20 yr anniversary party these two people got invited down to South Florida. The party was at The Breakers in W Palm Beach, and they said it was fabulous, except they were a bit surprised to see Tom “Puff” Daschle there!

Probably not in my lifetime & I hope to keep going for a while.

Prediction: if Puff becomes the HHS secretary, then Mrs. Puff will start lobbying for clients who live off HHS largess.

Probably not in my lifetime & I hope to keep going for a while.Daschle and some of the libs remind me of playing "Whack a Mole." You get rid of one and another pops back up.
Wishing you a long, prosperous life of whacking the liberal moles....

There is a vitriolic quality about Pelosi, Reid, and Daschle that is so repulsive that I literally can not listen to them speak. Instantly infuriating. Spewing lies and twisted versions of whatever is the” medicine oil” of the day.
However, they attained their positions, is a mystery to me.
Definitely I am in the minority if they represent America today.
