President-elect Barack Obama says he and Republican Sen. John McCain plan to work together to "fix up the country."
The two former rivals met in Obama's transition office Monday in Chicago. Rahm Emanuel, Obama's incoming White House chief of staff, participated in the meeting, as did McCain's close friend, South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham.

This might sound unpopular but we need less partisan bickering and more solutions. There is nothing wrong with principled opposition and standing up for conservative values but being the minority party means the other side sets the agenda. Look for ways to work w/the new administration to solve problems, protect security, support troops etc. Stand in opposition to expanding spending, expose the BS and propose better ideas for the American public to choose from the next go around.
Garbage!
I'll make this easy for you.
Name me 5 issues where you think we as conservatives can find common ground with the Obamanation's liberal positions on the issues without compromising core conservative values?
Shoot, I'll lower the bar even further, NAME ONE!
You don't win by compromising your values and you do not engender trust in those your represent by doing this either!

Juan can go back to bashing Conservatives, palling around with Liberals and being the Big Media favorite just like before.Good point. The rest of us are going to get screwed mightily by McCain's failure to run a winning campaign but he's going back to the Senate fat, dumb and happy to take up right where he left off.

I’m almost ashamed to admit that I voted for McCain. I console myself with the reminder that Palin was on the ticket and Obama was my other option.

A prescription for DOUBLE or maybe a TRIPLE disaster.
When (2) zero’s get together it is possible for synergism to rear its ugly head.

Here’s a novel idea. Why don’t McCain and Graham get their sorry selves in the Senate and start doing the jobs we pay them for. It’s about time, don’t you think? Half the Senate spent the last 2 years campaigning .
But then, maybe we were better off when they were out of Washington....:<(

I'm about ready to be an isolationist, let this crummy ingrate world (which so "adores" us now that we're going down the same ruinous path of socialism that they have gone down) fend for itself. Let them show their lack of that "racism" of which they've accused us, let Wills or Harry marry a black woman, or let just one of those crummy little countries elect a black leader. Even more, let them all pay for their own defense (after all, Russia is in their back yard, not ours), and see how they manage to fund all their womb-to-tomb socialist benefits then.

"There is nothing wrong with principled opposition and standing up for conservative values " That's all you need to say. The rest is blather.
It's obvious Obama and the Democrats will do WHATEVER THEY WANT TO DO. Trying to 'help' Obama is a pathetic figleaf for the bipartisan BS of old, where we help the Democrats pass their agenda. Phooey to that. No good will come of it at all.
I think we need to be MORE OPPOSITIONAL THAN EVER BEFORE. Opposing the Dems is exactly what is needed, so the American people listen to both sides before the Democrat steamroll over on their bad policies.

Maybe Mccain can run another HONORABLE CAMPAIGN in the Senate. He did not realize he was dealing with the DEVIL, Palin certainly did. Brilliant, run and honorable campaign and allow your opponent to outspend you by $600,000 million dollars. Hey John, thanks again for letting Odummy define you as BUSH and not attacking the creep early in the race. Nice JOB, now go home you RINO’s - Bush and Mccain...

May I never know a moment’s peace if I ever do it again-vote for the “lesser of two evils”. I was a fool, I admit it. Look where that got us-just what I would’ve gotten if I’d stuck to my principles. Ah, hindsight is indeed 20/20. But I’d really be a fool if I didn’t learn my lesson from it. Never again. Only by shutting the RINOs out of power, will they ever decide that they may as well stick to their “professed” conservative principles, because they’re not getting elected anyway.

Don't get my started on the Goobster. Remember when he was one of the House managers during the Clinton impeachment? He had the charges of perjury and suborning perjury dropped because, according to this mental midget, they were the weakest charges. I was considering relocating to So. Carolina, but will probably just stay here in California for a bit longer. If the citizens of that state re-elected this nimrod, it can't speak too well of the place.

I voted: for - Palin; against - obama. Mccain just happened to be on the ticket as the front runner. Kind of in the way of things.
I respect his heroism and dedication to this nation, lets hope he doesn’t betray her now. America needs all who love her to take a stand for her now more than ever against the obombination.

Amen, it worked for the ‘rats, “bi-partisanship” (total caving) is all the ‘rats want from us, and they’ll get it from the likes of McCain and Graham.

When McCain lost to Bush in the 2000 primaries I recall he was quite bitter about it and for some time was prone to criticism of the Bush administration in a rather petulant manner. Yet with Obama, hes already out there with the raching across the aisle stuff. Which party is it he really belongs in again? Perhaps this year's campaign was McCain's last stab in the back to the Republican party for dissing him in 2000.
