Bill Maher, on HBO's "Real Time With Bill Maher," frequently refers to the Old Testament of the Bible as the Book of Jewish Fairy Tales.

The description might anger the pious and the fundamentalists, but guess what? Maher's close to the truth.

There is so much wrong with the quoted statement. Modern science RELIES on the assumptions of the Judeo-Christian religion. Other cultures did not develop modern science because of their (wrong) worldview assumptions.

Yawn. The only fairy tales here are those being told by NOVA as they rely upon nonsense that has been obsolete for decades. Modern archaeology has confirmed the Old Testament in its facts and history over and over again, often in astoundingly precise, specific detail.

What is even worse is, teachers will record this and begin to show it in their “science” classes. When I was in school they played NOVA videos all of the time.
