It's standard fare for a president to make a bipartisan gesture by including one member of the opposing party in his cabinet - just as it's always the case (lest we forget) that every president-elect vows to change the tone in Washington and reach out magnanimously to his vanquished opponents.
But John Podesta, the former Bill Clinton former chief of staff who's spearheading the transition for the 44th president, said today that there would be independents and Republicans in Barack Obama's cabinet and "not just at a token level".

eventually we'll have to eat the ponies in 'obamaville'...
Ag! Speak my fear! :-) But I've been thinking the same thing! We've got an "order of precedence" here on the farm. It's an irrefutable order of "things", in order of importance necessary to survive on this planet. It goes like this -
1. God.
2. Water
3. Protection from the elements (clothing/shelter).
4. Food.
We say that EVERYTHING here is liable to be FOOD, and that if YOU sit still long enough, we're liable to skin you and eat you too! :-)
Yep...FOOD... it's the FOURTH most important thing on the planet!

PLEASE!
It’s hard to be a victim in the military, even in the magical world of cadet land.

Friend of mine is making a motorcycle that is pretty much a Big Wheel trike ! I will get some pictures of it for ya’ll !
Pretty cool design with low seat, big wheels and regular bars that keeps yer arms high enough you’ll think they are ape hangers but look normal and very very comfortable ride......

Its amazing how quickly this became such a happy conversation lol. The contents of this thread have greatly amused me.
Now, I must drive to the grocery store to buy more coffee. Turns out that I ran out...and I need coffee to keep me alive as I write up problem sets, papers, documentation and a proposal for two projects, one lab report, and a take-home midterm.

HA! I never thought about it that way! But now that you mention, unhappy people do annoy me. Especially those that are unhappy for no reason, or those who invent things to make them unhappy! :-)

And the flaming wreckage that was, formerly, the Meeting Hall for the local Loyal Order of the Brotherhood of Neutered Elk was STILL smoldering two days after the inferno, caused by, according to authorities, two kids playing with a half gallon of gas, a paper towel, and a rifle chambered for the .243 Winchester, while shooting at groundhogs...
Oh man! If you tried it INSIDE of a dwelling, or even too close to one, it would be a BAD scene! :-) The last time we pulled this little stunt, my wife was away but drove in JUST as it went *ka-boom*. I was "about" 40 yards away and could see the shock wave from the blast moving towards me and I thought, "Uh oh! I'm TOO CLOSE!" Then it hit me and blew my hat off and turned my shirt collar up, rung my ears, and it was UNCOMFORTABLY HOT as well! After this, I could hear the shock wave smack the side of the house 60 yards away and rattle all the windows. Every dog within a mile started barking, and of course my wife heard, and felt it sitting in the minivan she had just pulled into the driveway about 60 yards away...watching the 30 feet in diameter mushroom cloud ascend in the field behind our house. :-) My Mom and Stepdad were with her, and Mom said, "Oh my! WTH was that?!" My Stepdad saw us in the mix down the hill and said, "Cool!". My wife glared at him and was still glaring when she stepped out of the van and asked to have a "word" with me. :-)
Anyway...I'm not allowed to say "exactly" what we did, because the admin mods have pulled it twice from FR and I can take a hint! But I'll "bet" you can figure it out. Just remember.... half a gallon of gas (NOT a gallon!), a piece of paper towel, and a varmint rifle. :-) Be CAREFUL! :-)

NO! You're a "real" conservative! :-) You could try, but I'll bet you couldn't live with yourself afterwards! Nice try though! :-)
