Think Obama's blunders will do him in? Think again...
11-12-08 | Bob J

I have been amused greatly by opinions on FR that believe Obama will eventually do himself in due to his lack of experience, blunders, mismanagement, marxist tendancies and other assorted goofs and failures as chief executive. I particularly enjoy the comments on how this will inevitably usher in a new Reagan like figure and era.

I need only remind you of the Clinton years. During that time every goofy move of Bill and Hill was heralded as an extraordinary event while failures and scandal were routinely with held from the public. Mediocre economic results were fantastic achievements, the bombing of Kosovo was compassionate nation building, even his unprecedented sexual escapades and adultery in the oval office with an extremely young intern was trivialized down to "it's only sex". He defiled the office and was impeached...he should have been run out of town on a rail but instead he gets rave reviews on his administration, receives 6 figure speaking fees and is floated as a potenetial Sec Gen of the UN.

Thanks to the MSM.

Do you honestly think it will be better under Obama? The left has been out of power in the WH for 8 years and believe Obama to be the second coming of Christ. Every major failure, every idiotic misstep, every scandal will be swept under the rug while the MSM fawns and chants over each and every bowel movement.

Critics will be attacked as racists, negative press reports will be dealt with by expulsion and opponents will be relentlessly pursued and harassed.

It's not going to be better, it will be 10 times as worse. Conservatives need to focus on the real enemy. It's not Obama, Pelosi or the DNC, it's the MSM who put these people into power, push the propaganda and provide the air cover that allows them to destroy this country and everything we hold dear.

If FReepers want to see a return to conservative values and victories we need to focus on improving the terrain on which we battle our opponents.

Balance the media, balance the propaganda and the road will rise up to meet every conservative candidate running for office and every issue/initiative in which engage the opposition. Because until then every time we step up to the plate we have two strikes against us and every swing has to be a homerun.

Way too early to tell how Barry will do. He could end up like Carter, or he could end up like Clinton.

If Obama retreats from the WOT and the Islamists make a bold move, and gas prices are high, I expect him to have a serious problem being re-elected.

Barry is our first blank slate president. He had no record and took few positions. People projected upon him what they wanted to. Unfortunately for him, he’s going to have to make some policy over the next four years and a lot of his supporters are not going to like what they see.

Wait until the press leaks information on a relatively minor scandal about some high level Obama appointee (not His Holiness, mind you) that irritates the Messiah. Just wait until he demands to know the source of the leak. Watch the Odinga justice department throw a reporter in jail for not revealing a source. The light bulb will go on over the heads of a few newsies.

Of course, for most of the rest, the bulb will appear over their heads, but the filament broke long ago.

At some point he will make an outright attempt to abrogate our Constitution, and that’s when the real “festivities” will begin.

Unless he decides not to have free “health care” or free abortions he, as far as abrogating the Constitution goes, he has nothin to worry about. Because 90 per cent of the masses believe that the Constitutiion only pertaines to free health care and free abortions.

You are exactly right. How do we affect the shareholders? Let’s start some kind of movement

With all due respect, could you leave the Nostradamus stuff for another thread?

We’ve seen this movie before and we know how it ends.
The ‘True Believers’ cannot be convinced of any failings of the Messiah. I will challenge them to do the work required for their utopian society.

Good points.

Left to its own devices, the old media is shrinking at a rate of 5%-10% per year. The new regime will no doubt want to prop up Obama’s most effective support group. We’ll need to publicize this when it happens...

This desecration reminds me of the Book of Daniel, specifically the abomination that causes desolation.

We all know that the mainstream media was an enabler for Hussein. Obama’s reluctance to release information about himself, was never pursued by the press. But will Obama’s tendencies toward secrecy be overlooked by the press once he takes office? The other issue that may lead to problems for him is his inability to tell the truth. It’s one thing to talk out of both sides of your mouth to the electorate while running for office. But it’s quite another thing to try it when dealing with international leaders. He hasn’t even been sworn in, and already he’s at odds with Poland over what was said in a phone conversation on the planned missile defense system. This seems to be a disturbing pattern with him. Personally I think he’ll end up alienating a few of our allies because of this behavior. Will it lead to his downfall or failure? Only time will tell.

There first step is building awareness. The second step is building the organization. Third, develop the strategy. Fourth execution.

People get overwhelmed when looking at a mountain they must cross but when broken down into small, defined steps it becomes a series of simple, leapable hurdles.

Balancing the MSM is a mountain, but only insurmountable if you look at the horizon. Keep the focus on the next small step.

He blames others for his mistakes - - always has - - always will.

He’s the Obamamessiah - - he can do no wrong.

Thanks for stopping by S. I don’t use my ping lists for my posts because I like them to stand or fall on their own and it’s nice to get perspective from those who are “untainted” by the history.

The Media will NEVER turn on him. His fellow DemonRats will NEVER turn on him. His staff will NEVER turn on him. But if he doesn’t follow through with a Far Left Socialist/Communist takeover and destruction of America, the genetic mutants who NOMINATED him will turn on him in a second. He promised them revolution, they gave him the money to steal the election, and now he OWES them! If he doesn’t pay up, you’ll find his multiracial balls up for sale on Ebay!

They’ll blame it all on the GOP and evil rich conservatives and then say the only solution is their socialist changes.

Yep, it's incredibly naive to believe that any crisis, economic or political or world, will not be blamed on GWB.
