Think Obama's blunders will do him in? Think again...

I have been amused greatly by opinions on FR that believe Obama will eventually do himself in due to his lack of experience, blunders, mismanagement, marxist tendancies and other assorted goofs and failures as chief executive. I particularly enjoy the comments on how this will inevitably usher in a new Reagan like figure and era.

I need only remind you of the Clinton years. During that time every goofy move of Bill and Hill was heralded as an extraordinary event while failures and scandal were routinely with held from the public. Mediocre economic results were fantastic achievements, the bombing of Kosovo was compassionate nation building, even his unprecedented sexual escapades and adultery in the oval office with an extremely young intern was trivialized down to "it's only sex". He defiled the office and was impeached...he should have been run out of town on a rail but instead he gets rave reviews on his administration, receives 6 figure speaking fees and is floated as a potenetial Sec Gen of the UN.

Thanks to the MSM.

Do you honestly think it will be better under Obama? The left has been out of power in the WH for 8 years and believe Obama to be the second coming of Christ. Every major failure, every idiotic misstep, every scandal will be swept under the rug while the MSM fawns and chants over each and every bowel movement.

Critics will be attacked as racists, negative press reports will be dealt with by expulsion and opponents will be relentlessly pursued and harassed.

It's not going to be better, it will be 10 times as worse. Conservatives need to focus on the real enemy. It's not Obama, Pelosi or the DNC, it's the MSM who put these people into power, push the propaganda and provide the air cover that allows them to destroy this country and everything we hold dear.

If FReepers want to see a return to conservative values and victories we need to focus on improving the terrain on which we battle our opponents.

Balance the media, balance the propaganda and the road will rise up to meet every conservative candidate running for office and every issue/initiative in which engage the opposition. Because until then every time we step up to the plate we have two strikes against us and every swing has to be a homerun.

Well... first of all, look at the ratings.. Fox News ratings far out perform all of the other news stations.

Secondly... Clinton’s “stumbles” weren’t a)during a time of war or b)during such an economic meltdown.

People aren’t going to be patient.

I agree entirely. The hurt has to be put on via $$, but how exactly I do not know. Raw boycotts and similar measures are toothless. Any ideas?

The reason Slick got two terms is because he had a GOP congress to rain him in and get the economy humming. When he ran for re election in 96, the economy was great because Slick signed on to many GOP bills such as welfare reform.

When Carter ran for a second time, he had a RAT congress which was out of control. Unless the GOP retakes the Congress midterm, BO will be in trouble because they will overreach. If the RATS win again in 2010, then BO will be a one termer.

You are acting very scared. There are much bigger and stronger forces than Obama and the left. These forces that include 57 million people who voted against Obama make this great country run. Please remember that over 60% of his voters are on welfare, or do not work, or do not pay taxes. Winning an election does not mean that you have the power, because idiots have the right to vote and tens of millions of them voted for Obama this year. However these idiots do not have any real power and do not run anything.

From your post I can only conclude that you are asking us to surrender to a much weaker opponent.

“He`s a two term president, of that i have no doubt.”

There is room for doubt. He could go more than 2 terms. :(

Sadly, I think you’re right. I only hope it’s about a six month term in the White House and 15-20 years at a nice federal facility. I’m not holding my breath. The media dragged him across the finish line and they’ll make damned sure he gets his eight years.

There may not be an America after a second term anyway.

The first step is understanding the problem...too many conservatives don’t know who is their real enemy. They spend 80% of their time and money on 20% of the problem. Reid, Pelosi, Hillary the DNC want to defeat us. Liberalism/fascism wants to destroy us.

The MSM can be balanced but until conservatives understand this is where 80% of their time, money and energy needs to be committed it is only a gleam in our eye.

Then how did we lose the election?

I think he will be a one term, one and done President. Think of this as a possible Jimmy Carter II.

Obama is the Jimmy Carter of our generation. Because he has a Democratic congress, he will get a lot of what he wants. His policies will be disastrous and, no matter how the media tries to cover for him, he will be booted after one term.

Clinton got away with it, yes, but Clinton had a relatively quiet watch. The Soviet Union had, in the broad scheme of things, recently collapsed, the Muslims weren't as problematic yet, and he got elected on an economic upturn (I think the biggest problem this time around is that people are panicking; the economy is down a bit, but ups and downs are the way of it; freaking out only makes things worse), and was restrained by a Republican congress midway through his first term. Obama, while he has the press's love and adoration, has been elected during an economic downturn, has a Democratic congress (which will help him with an epic fail), and has a rockier foreign policy situation to deal with. He will not survive himself.

Lots.

Boycotts and similar measures are toothless because they didn’t have any teeth to begin with. Claiming to have teeth and then knawing away with your gums only makes you a laughingstock.

Remember that any second term is “earned” and after six months “buyers remorse” will by that time set in.

That’s a little simplistic. Nothing’s in the bag at this point.

I tell you why boycotts lose, because the attack is one dimensional, limited and has no legs. Sure go after their sales but you have to strike at the carotid artery...they’re stock price.

Hit that and the stockholders take notice. Stockholders hire the Board of Directors, who hire the company President, who hires all the executives who hire the day to day managers who run the organization.

Clinton had a Republican congress to deal with, he had some limits in everything but the use of the oval office sink.

Interesting quotation that Nostradamus predicted that the Antichrist would not be a citizen of the country he first took over. But it appears to be an interpretation of Nostradamus rather than quoted directly from Nostradamus himself.

I googled it and found these sites:

http://www.google.com/search?q=Nostradamus+%E2%80%9CWhen+his+time+comes+he+will+take+advantage+of+the+political+situation&sourceid=ie7&rls=com.microsoft:en-US&ie=utf8&oe=utf8

The question is, what were these speculations based on? What did Nostradamus actually say? Just curious, since the question of Obama’s citizenship has grown into such a major issue.
