OSAMA bin Laden is planning an attack against the United States that will "outdo by far" September 11, an Arab newspaper in London has reported.

And according to a former senior Yemeni al-Qaeda operative, the terrorist organisation has entered a "positive phase", reinforcing specific training camps around the world that will lead the next "wave of action" against the West.

The warning, on the front page of an Arabic newspaper published in London, Al-Quds Al-Arabi - and widely reported in the major Italian papers - quotes a person described as being "very close to al-Qaeda" in Yemen.

Is the Yemeni credible? The blogosphere's renowned expert on Yemen, Jane Novak, says yes.

President Bush was guilty of failure on many levels during his 8 year term as well as having 5 years of the worst PR I have ever seen from a White House.

However, saying that, I still believe history will reflect Bush’s vision for an unpopular war on terror as the right move at the right time and in 20-30 years he will be regarded as one of our best visionaries in history.

What a thankless job he has had. He saved our asses from more attacks and took the battle to them regardless of what the PC world thought of him.

I bet his public opinion polling numbers will be in the 40s-low 50s next year at this time.

Every liberal over the past 2 years that Ive tried to sway to vote republican. I told them that within 6 months of Obama getting elected there will be an attack on US soil and that the war in Iraq HAD to happen to take the war to them. Those people in the middle east respect war and aggression, they dont respect a man like Obama that wants everyone to just “get along”. Scary to think that there will be another attack and that hundreds if not thousands of americans may die because of a man with no backbone. Bin Laden saying something like gives me chills. I think that all of the crap we (rightfully) skewered him for - like Prescription Drugs, NCLB, rampant spending - is stuff that, to him, paled in comparison to the WOT.

Folks, remember Beslan. They hit a rural school. They created mayhem and gave demands, all the while using the time to set explosives. They used car bombs and fake emergency responders to create diversions and facilitate escape. They had no desire to talk, they just had to give the impression they did so they could carry out the final attack.

I remember seeing posts on FR that noted there was intel found that showed school blue-prints etc... for schools in, IIRC, San Diego, CA, Salem, OR, and rural parts of PA, TX, and NJ.

They had planned 9-11 for a loooong time - we have short attention spans, have already forgotten about the school plans, busses, etc.
My daughter's teacher has guns close by, and her school is set-up as a shelter-in-place secure haven (we homeschool).
