"There's a lot that the president can do using his executive authority without waiting for congressional action, and I think we'll see the president do that," Podesta said. "I think that he feels like he has a real mandate for change. We need to get off the course that the Bush administration has set."
Executive orders "have the power of law and they can cover just about anything," Tobias said in a telephone interview.
On drilling, the federal Bureau of Land Management is opening about 360,000 acres of public land in Utah to oil and gas drilling. Bush administration officials argue that the drilling will not harm sensitive areas; environmentalists oppose it.
"They want to have oil and gas drilling in some of the most sensitive, fragile lands in Utah," Podesta said. "I think that's a mistake."

Of course they were NEVER going to allow drilling. It would mean less dependency and that is what they crave in any form.
Utah fragile what a crock! If it is so fragile that you can’t drill a hole in it then we need to evacuate the whole state. Stupid freakin’ jackasses!

When Reagan first came into office he signed executive orders on any number of issues. Clinton and Bush43 both took similiar actions. Its part of the process when you win the Presidency. In fact, all Presidents sign executive orders through their terms in office. There have been thousands of EO`s since the US was created.

That’ll be moot, since none of us can pedal our bicycles that fast.

Seems like Utahs Governor needs to excercise some executive power of its own, a preemptive strike, with a states rights case ALL ready to go. I do belive it would be in Utah Gov Huntsman's best interest to end run BHO and develop his state's 1,700,000,000,000 bbls of oil frozen in oil shale.
That's right, 1,700,000,000,000 bbls of oil reserves are more than are in Saudi Arabia by a factor of 6x.

Precisely the words of an elderly Bulgarian neighbor of mine. She was a chemist under Russian rule until the wall fell. Then she split. Man, the stories that woman has told us. We pretty much hang on every word.
She just shook her head in utter disbelief on the 5th. Said we are all in for a rude awakening.

Obama may be a savior that no one expects him to be. I have a feeling that he may be the one to save the Republican Party by pushing it and all of America to the right in the next 4 years.

You can bet to see Obama out-do Clinton in this area. He might even out-do Ronald Reagan who had 381.

This is Obamas first thing he said going to do. Is to let late term abortions (that’s - partial birth abortions),
to be legal again. That is where they shove a pair of surgical scissors up into the skull of a half delivered baby. They then shove a vacuum to suck out the brains. That is so the skull will collapse. They then pull out the body.
Yeah, It sounds pretty unimportant.
So in your opinion you think we should let him do it? His MOST important act.
http://www.fightfoca.com/
From a strategic point of view we should resist EVERY possible thing that we can get traction on. This is one of those things, late term abortion. Some 60 per-cent or more agree that this is a barbaric act. Except for one freeper.

Do you know how the EO counts of each administrations compare?

The sad thing is a large number, maybe even a majority, could care less what Obama does as they can watch football and American Idol. I have some friends like this, they never watch any news, never vote. They thought Bill Clinton was still president until a couple years ago. I mentioned the election to one of them today and they asked, “So who won? The old dude or the black dude?” Yeah, that's how much they pay attention...
