THE ATTEMPTED POLITICAL ASSASSINATION OF SARAH PALIN & WHY IT MUST AND WILL FAIL!

An Excellent Editorial posted on City on a Hill Political Observer.

The mainstream media and the Obama-Biden campaign made the political assassination of Governor Sarah Palin their number one goal during the 2008 election cycle. The agile and tough Alaskan moose-hunter was able to survive the attempt on her political life, but left this campaign field bloodied. In the past few days some second-rate hacks within the McCain campaign and establishment elites within the GOP have tried to finish the job. They must not and will not succeed.

It is often quoted by some random Alaskan politician that, “the Alaskan poltical landscape is littered with the bodies of those who underestimated Sarah Palin.”

The same will be true of the national stage.

Governor Sarah Palin came into this campaign on August 29. She did not seek this out, it found her. She has spent years focusing on the issues specific to Alaska and had no time to bone up on national issues. She couldn’t get her sea legs without the glare of the national spotlight like Barry and John could over two years ago when this marathon election began.

Governor Palin’s rise to power was not an easy one. She took on and defeated a sitting Republican governor, and went on to win the general election for governor in 2006, which happened to be a very bad year nationally for the GOP. As Governor, Sarah Palin entered this year with the highest approval rating in the nation. She tackled huge issues like the oil and gas pipeline in a tenacious and powerful way. She took on the oil companies, the state Democrats and the state Republicans to weed out corruption, cut taxes and eliminate over 300 million dollars in spending from the state’s budget. What Sarah Palin has accomplished in Alaska is a model for conservatives across the country of how a bold, reform-minded conservative can succeed by articulating the conservative agenda and taking on anyone who stands against progress. It comes out of the mold of Ronald Reagan, that is, she is a conservative leader not a calculating politician with conservative tendencies. She doesn’t take the easy way. She’s a bold, confident leader in a business loaded with deal-makers and favor-seekers.

I think the attacks on her are a testimonial to her potential greatness in the future.

She threatens the moderates in the Republican party who are doomed to forever lose elections.
They don't care about losing elections, as long as they keep their jobs.

Then you have rabid Dems who will tell you she is for interment of the Japanese, slavery and beating old folks and taking their social security.

IMO the one thing that will save Sarah and make her thrive is that she is able to speak for herself real well and isn't shy about saying what is on her mind.
She is a refreshing force in politics IMO.

I like her.
I think with some more studying of the issues and world events she would make a fine President in 2012.

Thursday’s Rush Quotes..........

“Why destroy Sarah Palin right now? The only reason I see is to make sure she doesn’t rise again as a force for conservatism in the Republican Party.”

“I actually think the Obama campaign likes this economic chaos, just as they did during the campaign, because the more economic chaos there is, the greater opportunity for expanded government.”

“John McCain’s campaign staff has now spent more time attacking Sarah Palin than they spent combined on Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, Rashid Khalidi, Frank Marshall Davis, and Obama himself. This party must be suicidal.”

“I myself said as much on previous occasions in this program: What are you guys, like McCain, doing messing around, trying to screw up our party? Just join the people that you have all this love for — the Democrats! You like ‘em, go join ‘em!”

“You people who voted for Obama are going to have to learn how to resist this kind of charismatic demagoguery in the future.”

“Look at what Palin did. She’s minding her own business up there in Alaska, they call her up because they need a hail Mary, so she drags herself and her entire family all over the fruited plain without missing a beat. She was unfailingly cheerful. She was a spot of sunshine in an abysmal election year. And now McCain’s camp is trashing her.”

“Implosions can lead to bigger reconstructions. That’s what we face now, and the country can’t do without a Republican Party.”

"And now McCain’s camp is trashing her."

McCain should join Lieberman and Sanders in their own party.

Now I will destroy that Alaskan threat to me. It is so good to be Dictator."

The people attacking her now don't have anything else to do. She should just go away until later next year when these same people will be too busy defending 0bama to spend time on her.

The elites, in and out of the party, realize the danger Gov. Palin represents to their plans. It is long past time the GOP elites took the back seat in the control of the party.

They fear her.

I wish Rush would do more than just tacitly support her.

His open support of her contention in 2012 as a viable party leader would be hugh.

If only some of the conservative pundits and party insiders would have done a better job talking her up as a possible veep candidate before she was announced. A majority of the American public became comfortable with Obama bc he was in the national spotlight for 4 years yet done nothing. Remember, most Obama voters thought he voted against the war. We should have did a better job getting her name out there in speculation. This is why Jindal might have a shot. His coverage is starting now.

The country and Washington DC are loosing site of morality. This is just what today and the future means for Christians. Sarah must be distroyed because she is a Christian Conservative. They are not welcomed in DC anymore.

They simply can’t keep her in the news very long. All she has to do is walk away and the media will have to move on. They’re boxed in a corner here.

It is long past time the GOP elites took the back seat in the control of the party.

Or, cross the aisle and permanently join The Democrats, which would raise the mean IQ of both parties.

I think the GOP should not attack Sarah, but I fear the damage is done. I love Sarah, but she will not be a candidate in 2012 in my opinion. The way the Repub primaries are run, an establishment GOP candidate will get the nod-Romney,Giuliani-someone like that. Given the current primary system which foisted McCain on us this year and Bob Dole a few years ago, we have not hope-assuming Sarah could rise above the negatives brought upon by attacks by media and fellow Republicans. The primaries are rigged to allow Rino’s in California, New York and Florida pick our candidate.

Wrong!
# 1. The GOP is not attacking Gov Palin. Some McCain staffers allegedly are, and even that has been denied by McCain chief of staff just yesterday.
# 2. Despite all the vicious, nasty MSM/Obambi attacks, Gov Palin garnered more enthusiastic crowds on campiagn stops than anyone did, including Obambi, and higher TV ratings for her RNC speech, and VP debate than Obambi did. Monday when she appears on Greta, Greta will have her highest ratings for the year.

Doesn't much sound like a damaged gods to me. She is more popular than ever.
