Sarah Bashers - Just shut up
11/5/20008 | self

To the McCain staff and Republican Party leaders:

My family has been Republicans since before the civil war. One of my ancestors lived in Arkansas and is described as a Moral Abolitionist. Originally from South Carolina he brought his Family to North West Arkansas and started a community named The Lord’s Vineyard. Here he taught both his children and the slaves he brought with him as well as the slaves he inherited or bought in South Carolina to read and write. Once they reached 21 and were able to read and write and had learned a skill, he gave them a piece of property and helped them set up a business. He once said that his children were no more prepared to live in a world without slaves than the slaves were to have freedom. He is it was his duty to ensure that both could be free and successful. He created uproar when he gave one of his slaves a business before his son, because his son had not become sufficiently humble.

I believe through my family, I have earned the right to speak as a Republican and believe my thoughts reflect many other Republicans.

The McCain staffers who did not agree with Sarah Palin, would you please just Shut Up!! You must understand that most of America loved Sarah, she energized long time Republicans who like myself was not enamored with John McCain as the candidate. When he won, I had decided to sit this election out, I would vote for him because he was the lesser of two evils but I was not going to walk the streets and volunteer my time and money. Sarah changed that for me. I worked harder to get Senator McCain elected than I worked to get George Bush elected. If you’re an example of what the insiders in Washington have become, we deserved to lose!!!!

Americans are starved for someone that can clearly articulate our agenda of lower taxes, limited government, protecting the unborn children and our personal freedoms. Sarah Palin is that person and you are trying to destroy her. We will not allow that to happen, not this time. She will not become a George W Bush because you have hurt feelings. Our message was schizophrenic at best and liberal at worst. We must get back to being the party of ideas.

We must accept the fact that when liberals wage a campaign of personal destruction they win. They not only have the backing of the press but many in Europe. People who want to see American power in the world diminished back the liberal agenda because they know that liberals are the best avenue to destroying everything we hold dear. When liberals are forced to wage a campaign of ideas they lose. American values are center right not left. Every liberal that won, did not discuss issues but instead focusing on their opponent’s personal life and distorting their values. Republican’s who wage a campaign of personal destruction always lose.

If we move to the left, Americans will keep electing Democrats, we need to unite, and start presenting our party as the party of ideas and taking our case directly to the American people. We need every Republican united in that cause.

Shut up and get to work or get out of the way.

If Rush and Hannity, who held their tongue suporting McCain don’t drop a bomb on these anti-Palin bozos, then it won’t get done. They have the firepower.

I becoming more convinced that a gossip site to expose these frauds is needed. Put their sorry lives on for display.

I'm actually a Romney basher. And I don't seek to destroy Palin. But she hasn't sold me yet. Are you sure she's the best person to articulate conservatism? I'd like to think that when asked to name just one SCOTUS decision she disagreed with, she might have come up with SOMETHING. I didn't even go to college, and I could have named a few. How about Kelo? I think that the criticism of her is obviously over the top, but not without its grain of truth.

I think we should be very careful and very picky looking for our next leader? Why must we all buy in to Sarah now? Do you buy the first car you test drive?

Here's a sensible counter-proposal. Let's accept Sarah as an applicant for the job. Done. No more discussion needed on the subject of Sarah. She's a prospect.

NOW, let's go find two or three more, with the goal being to find someone so outstanding, we might even like them MORE than Sarah. Let's find two or three that we think could ALL do a great job, and then watch them compete with each other for our support. Aren't we supposed to stand for competition as a positive force? Then how about applying it to this task?

Makes perfect sense to me.

You wrongly assume the GOP establishment supports that agenda. The fact that Sarah Palin is for that kind of agenda means the GOP establishment will try to destroy her.

And Fox News actually lead with this story yesterday!

As I posted yesterday, they're are afraid of their new masters. They will take the "fair and balanced" to the extreme in hope of keeping their jobs and not getting thrown off of the air.

Romneyites and Beltway republicans...

Must be purged from the Republican ranks, or they will continue to transform our government into a one-party monopoly, which it almost is now.

Remember the name Steve Schmidt.

Steve Schmidt was the senior campaign strategist and advisor to John McCain.

Steve Schmidt is the one that is primarily responsible for screwing up the campaign.

Steve Schmidt is the one spreading all the gossip about Sarah Palin.

Remember Steve Schmidt. He is no friend of the conservative base.

I think Romney will very soon realize that he has ZERO chance of ever securing the Republican nomination. He will then call off the goons and get back to being a businessman.

Only in this year's climate was he even semi-palatable. He has some tough history to answer for, and he hasn't yet done so convincingly enough for me.

Plus, he should face the reality that Republicans will not nominate a Mormon. Too many folks view it as a fringe religion.

People need to forget about who is going to be the 2012 candidate and focus on establishing the goals and values of the Republican party from this day forward. For starters, New Gingrich ought to be chairman of the DNC.

Let them know that I will not donate one penny to the RNC. I will donate to individual campaigns only. I am curious, anyone in south Florida, did the RNC back Colonel West? I donated to him and will donate to him again in the future.

Those rinos in the McPain camp are bashing Sarah to take the heat off of themselves for the loss. We know better—Johnny Mac ran an awful, unfocused campaign. Schmidt helped for a while, but then lost it. Ignore them...they are off the bus anyway.

I get the feeling that the “Powers That Be” in the Republican party, are going to try to force feed us Lindsey Graham in 2012. No thank you! We must choose OUR candidate. I am not saying it should be Sarah Palin, but whomever it is, it must be the candidate of the rank and file, and not the bosses, who seem to be leading the “bash Sarah brigade”..

On the issue of Sara Plain, perhaps wake up would be a better admonition to you. It isn’t just disgruntled conservatives, Rommenyites and Huckabees trying to put the kabosh on her. It is the entire Washington establishment. This isn’t an accident. They fear her. Why? Because, she is “us” and they do not want “us” taking over or even stemming the tide of the direction this country is heading. Don’t fall for their bull.

Making Sarah the scapegoat is vile and absolutely wrong! SHE was going after Obama with guns blazing. America LOVED PALIN! They tied McCain to Bush and THAT is why we lost! Maybe ANY Republican would have lost just because they were Republican. Four years from now, the Obama mania will have run its course and America will again be ready for some REAL Consevatives like Bobby and Sarah. Our job until then is to derail Obama’s Socialism.
