Carl Cameron just said McCain campaign shocked to discover Sarah Palin did not realize Africa was a continent, believing instead that it was a country. She did not know the countries in NAFTA. She refused offered preparation for the Couric interview and threw temper tantrums over adverse press.
Wow. Dumping on Sarah in a big way. Shep asked how on Earth the McCain camp could have ended up picking such a dope (not exact words, but sense of what he said).
They did point out she seemed to help the polling numbers.
I knew this was going to be the template, but I was surprised at the level of nastiness on Fox News. Looks like elements of the McCain campaign is determined to make her the scapegoat for the loss. (Couldn't have been anything about the man at the top of the ticket.)
Fox News: Palin didn't know Africa was a continent You Tube
I highly doubt they have any proof that an educated woman who is the governor of Alaska doesn’t know what most first graders should know....... sheesh..... I guess Fox wants to cozy up to Obama so perhaps they won’t be kicked off the air.
After her early interview performances I find this totally believable.
I tend to believe it’s the media in general creating this myth, not the McCain campaign. They have a powerful and sinister motive.
I’m not buying it. I’ve only watched Fox a little since the horrible news, but it looks like many of them have drunk the koolaid. Never was sure about Carl.
McCain wouldn’t have stood the chance he did have, if it weren’t for Sarah Palin. God bless her and her family. She is another Reagan and of course the MSM has to start destroying her right away. Let’s not let them!
Do you get the idea tha the Marxist Left is going to continue the battle against Conservatives?
McCain wouldnt or was incapable of attacking Obama on anything. Even his base before the 3rd debate was angry at him for such an incompetant campaign.
I hope not. We need Palin!
I initially liked Romney, but so many of the people I know and/or whose opinion I value believe he’s bad news and as phony as they come. I obviously am not comfortable with him anymore.
If I’m wrong I’d be happy to be corrected.
I like Sarah, but was not impressed with her saying living adjacent to Russia was somehow foreign policy experience.
She was badly served by the numskulls who set her up with Katie Couric.
By the same token, no one can blame Sarah for causing McCain to lose the election. She was a net plus.
If the GOP turns on her they may never get my independent vote again. That’s a fact, Jack.
no link yet
but I saw it on FOX also
they also said more was going to be put out about Palin in coming days.
Too HELL W/U FOX!!!
This is like those Quayle stories that circulated in the 1980s. Quayle knew they didn’t speak Latin in Latin America. Just as Palin knows Africa is a continent, not a country.
Whoever is doing this should pay dearly with their reputation and credibility.
Let’s get the word out, any more of this Palin BS and we will bury you bad, if it’s the Romney camp...
exactly the battle is on for the soul of the party. We need to be careful, this cannot turn into a full scale internal civil war, some blood will need to be shed but the sooner some elements in the party realise Palin and Jindal and other younger governors are the future, the sooner they must stand aside for them.
I’m thinking the same thing....... No more obsessing over news coverage on this crap.....
I don't think it's the fault of Fox News. They are simply reporting what was said.
Perhaps it's true. She should have accepted help in preparing for the interview. IMHO.
By flip-flopping on the issues, Romney earned the disfavor of liberals, moderates, and conservatives alike. Maybe he can reinvent himself again in four years, but Romney ran the most incompetent campaign of 2008.
B.S.
(not you — McCain’s bunch)
If McCain had been as energetic attacking Democrats over the mortgage meltdown and opposing the surge then he may have had a fighting chance. But, when you are nice to your enemies and mean to your friends it is a formula for failure.
I have worked with LDS volunteers for years. Many of them would not vote the McCain ticket here because they were very much in it for Romney from day one. I have heard much evidence of this not being an isolated case.
I would agree with you - I think that Team Romney (which I once fought for in the primaries) has been in this all along for Romney and only Romney. You can see what his adorers did in the Conservative press.
Perhaps I am angered by anecdotal evidence, both mine and other Freepers, but I am really thinking it would be impossible for me to take Romney seriously as a Presidential candidate any more.
