Carl Cameron just said McCain campaign shocked to discover Sarah Palin did not realize Africa was a continent, believing instead that it was a country. She did not know the countries in NAFTA. She refused offered preparation for the Couric interview and threw temper tantrums over adverse press.
Wow. Dumping on Sarah in a big way. Shep asked how on Earth the McCain camp could have ended up picking such a dope (not exact words, but sense of what he said).
They did point out she seemed to help the polling numbers.
I knew this was going to be the template, but I was surprised at the level of nastiness on Fox News. Looks like elements of the McCain campaign is determined to make her the scapegoat for the loss. (Couldn't have been anything about the man at the top of the ticket.)
Fox News: Palin didn't know Africa was a continent You Tube
I am with you 100%! I have had first hand experience with his consultants that did a dry run for Istook here. That soured me on Romney and the person he picked for his campaign soured me even more. Anyone who equates their sons working in their campaign with serving in the military is not someone I would support.
Romney was supposed to speak at our OK GOP Convention and backed out at the last minute to go to Iowa so no one could replace him.
Wouldn’t give you two cents for the people that surround him — would never support him after his people undermined McCain, Rudy, Thompson, and Huckabee. In talking with people from the other campaigns, we all had problems with Jeb and GW’s people that went to Romney with negative leaks about the other candidates.
Romney’s convention speech was all about me, me, me! He promised to campaign in MI for McCain and other locations. He would occastionally do something and in his speech would backstab McCain.
Not impressed at all and would sit out any campaign of Romney/Bush. Bush/Cheney tried to get McCain to take Romney as VP and when that didn’t happen and his people took on Palin and she has had trouble ever since.
That's my thinking too. I think this is a cover your ass maneuver.
I find myself wondering if the purpose of the selection was to sabotage Sarah Palin, and if Governor Palin was not supposed to be able to drag the ticket toward victory.
Palin has more ethics problems waiting for her at home besides the Wooten/Monegan problems she shadily skirted. Four ethics complaints on the docket as we speak. That’s just a fact so don’t bother flaming me because you don’t like the truth about your gal. The fact is, she comes with a lot of bad baggage.
Another important point: Moderates and Independents don’t like Palin and without those two groups the party’s candidate can’t win as was seen yesterday. Backing a losing proposition never makes sense. Doing it twice is insanity.
There are so many other bright and ethical and qualified female politicians in the Republican party that I cannot understand why, if it must be a female, the base doesn’t go looking for other Republican women to run in 2012.
Hey FOX...I an done watching you....because of ole Shep!!!
This story is a pro Palin guy if it’s true. I think most men would just fall for Palin if they worked with her that closely =P
Like your tagline.
This is quite common treatment for females - regardless of the walk of life. We may have broken the “race” barrier in this country, but....
Do I detect a wee bit of jealousy and Venus Envy in your post?
They did?!!
They are jockeying for their next paid gigs. Their interest in principle or philosophy is non-existent.
“ability to “see Russia” from Alaska.”
You actually CAN see Russia from Alaska. Little Diomede and Big Diomede Islands.
“Shes a RINO, too.”
I don’t think so. I think you meant McCain.
“Well if true she didnt know Africa is a continent- what is the problem?”
The problem is that we would no want such as stupid and ignorant person as President! Too many Freepers treat any expectation of intelligence and knowledgability in Presidential candidates as a sign of “elitism”. It’s as if they want to live down to an epithet thrown at the Republican Party — the “stupid party”.
IMHO, I believe Palin was reigned in. Had she been able to speak her mind freely they would have done even better. There was no stammering or stuttering in her speeches. She followed a script, but had she been able to speak her mind, her message would have been more effective. The problem was never Palin, she was a great choice considering that the Dem’s Prez candidate had the least experience of the 4. BTW, I truly believe that this election was won by the “Jay Walking” vote. Its also time for the Conservatives to have a nationwide newspaper to bypass the MSM propaganda (BS) mills. Call it some thing like the “National Patriot”. Maybe we can get Soros to fund it? LOL!!
Daniels is an excellent guv. Very pleased that he was re-elected.
It sounds like someone is trying to frame the narrative with the most lurid soundbytes possible:
“She didn’t know Africa...”
Sounds like static to me, Gov Palin is a rising star in the GOP, nothing can change that fact of life.
You tell me what that has produced? Nothing, nada, zero, zilch.. We lost.
There are way better candidates in 2012. As I said, Jindal, Daniels, Ryan, Cantor who don’t have the baggage of this election cycle. It’s time to move on.
Uh, she's the most conservative candidate we've seen come along in years - abortion, states rights, oil, healthcare, global warming nonsense, and hundreds of other points. What the heck are you talking about?
