Carl Cameron just said McCain campaign shocked to discover Sarah Palin did not realize Africa was a continent, believing instead that it was a country. She did not know the countries in NAFTA. She refused offered preparation for the Couric interview and threw temper tantrums over adverse press.
Wow. Dumping on Sarah in a big way. Shep asked how on Earth the McCain camp could have ended up picking such a dope (not exact words, but sense of what he said).
They did point out she seemed to help the polling numbers.
I knew this was going to be the template, but I was surprised at the level of nastiness on Fox News. Looks like elements of the McCain campaign is determined to make her the scapegoat for the loss. (Couldn't have been anything about the man at the top of the ticket.)
Fox News: Palin didn't know Africa was a continent You Tube
What is wrong with you folks? We were just clocked yesterday. We lost among college graduates! We lost among the middle-class! We need a conservative vision that deals with folks’ aspirations and kitchen-table issues, like health care, energy, — in addition to tax relief.
Screw McCain and Palin, there’s too much baggage there... Move on guys. There’s Jindal, Daniels (who says he’s not running for Prez, but I think can be convinced for VP), Paul Ryan, Eric Cantor — a whole host of other conservatives that are a helluva smarter than the McCain-Palin crew. We need smart conservatives who can COMMUNICATE a conservative vision. It’s time to look into the future, and move on from the past.
I'm not shooting the messenger here, but it sure does seem ol' Carl has his ear to the ground for any Republican dirt.
If someone started a petition to the GOP to put a stop to this cr@pping on Palin and getting back to conservative basics I’d sign it.
Kevin Madden was the only name I caught.
McCain is responsible no matter how you look at it.
He put her on the ticket. She didn’t ask to be VP.
McCain hates conservatives and so do those that surround him. I am sure it grated on them every day that they had to have “that conservative” around.
McCain could have made many choices so ultimately it is his responsibility—no matter what.
I don’t think he was just pulling it out of his a$$. There have been many reports from different legitimate sites saying it’s the Romney folks.
Sarah did not say that merely living close to Russia was foreign policy experience. She commands the Alaskan National Guard which is the first line of defense against Russia. She merely mentioned that she could see Russia from her front porch and that Alaska was the 57th state - uh, sorry, that was the Big O who said said something about 57 states.
Anyone else e-mailing them to tell how petty this little gossip season was?
I’m done with the media in this country.
The interviews with Gibson and Katie were stupid. They should have started her out with a lot of radio interviews with friendlies and then moved into not-so-friendlies on radio. Then have here do short interviews with TV. So, these geniuses throw her right into the fire instead.
What he seems to have is a mean spirited personality nd a sense of entitlement. Giuliani, Fred Thompson, and even mike huckabee were all over the map stumping for John McCain. Romney was rarely seen. He was bummed by the fact he was not the nominee and now he seeks to destroy Palin. he feels she is his rival for 2012. Hey Mitt, 2012?? You're not even on the roster.
Africa is not a country?
Shep showed he was a low life during Katrina. I’ve not watched him since then.

Agreed.
All that’s needed to attack Mitt Romney is to point out how he flip-flops and molds himself to whatever election he happens to be running in at the time. McCain may have faults, but when the Mittster started to yammer about how he was the candidate of change, and McCain interjected “I know”, he nailed him to the core.
I’m no fan of Palin either. The comparisons of her to the Iron Lady are just...bizarre, so 2012 is wide open.
It’s not just Dems who may see her as a threat....there are some Republican who want to run in 2012 who wouldn’t mind seing Palin taken down.
Mark my words, there are going to be a lot of Republicans who want this election to be “same old, same old” and go back to acting like it’s business as usual and it’s just the other side taking a turn.
Any young conservative is going to be Noonaned by the “reach out” branch of the GOP.
hussein thought there were 57 states in the union and he was elected president...guess that means she’ll be queen of the world soon....
