Palin Attacks Obama on Coal Production
http://blogs.wsj.com/ ^ | Nov 2,2008 | Nick Timiraos

Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin unleashed a new volley against Barack Obama on a four-city tour of Ohio on Sunday by touting newly released audio comments made by the Democratic presidential candidate promising to restrict the construction of new coal-fired power plants in the U.S.

The issue is particularly sensitive in coal-rich Ohio, West Virginia, and Colorado. Obama made the comments to the San Francisco Chronicle in January, which were posted on YouTube over the weekend.

Obama said that under his proposal to cap greenhouse gases, energy suppliers would get incentives to develop technologies to reduce pollution and to use cleaner sources of power. “So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can,” Obama said. “It’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted.”

Palin told supporters to listen to the audiotape. “You’re going to hear Sen. Obama talk about bankrupting the coal industry,” she said. The Alaska governor also pointed to comments that Democratic vice-presidential candidate Joe Biden made to an environmental activist, promising no more coal-fired power plants in America. Biden was videotaped, likely without his knowledge.

“In an Obama-Biden administration, there would be no use for coal at all, from Wyoming to Colorado, to West Virginia and Ohio,” Palin said.

The Obama campaign scrambled after Biden made his comments in September, clarifying that Obama remained committed to exploring the as-yet-undeveloped clean-coal technology in order to produce cleaner-burning coal-fired power plants.

I think Hannity is on live tonight and I would bet you he does at least. This is huge here in Pa. Its hits B. Hussein on energy costs, jobs, and also his habit of saying different things to different audiences . Sarah has been calling him on that at all her rally’s.

“Just how does Obama/Biden plan on fueling the country’s energy needs, flower power?
How about Righteous Wind Power? “

More like Breaking Wind Power.

What I’d like to know is: Does McCain even HAVE an oppo research department????!!!!

This was on the radio back in JANUARY. Since then we’ve had Jeremiah Wright. We’ve just recently heard the “socialism” tape. And the Pali party with Khalidi...that’s been stewing since April. And Ayers’ book dedicated to RFK’s assassin. And, of course, the illegal alien aunt on welfare.

NONE of which was unearthed by McCain’s team. Talk about disarmament.

“So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can,” Obama said. “It’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted.”

Like so many other ignorant liberals, including most college professors, Obama doesn’t know the facts about greenhouse gases. First, they occur naturally in the atmosphere, and without them the earth would be too cold for humans. A major greenhouse gas is water vapor. Carbon dioxide, despite all the noise made by liberal morons, is only present in trace amounts. A recent estimate is less than 400 parts per million of CO2 in the atmosphere.

Obama’s plan is to make the United States even more dependent on foreign oil, much of which comes from countries which are unfriendly to the U.S. -— countries such as Iran, Russia, and Venezuela. By crippling the generation of electricity using coal, opposing nuclear generation, making war against capitalism, instigating class warfare, and increasing taxes for almost all of us, Obama would push the U.S. into a deep, long-lasting economic depression. In short, he seeks to wreck our economy.

Then he would seek and likely get vast new extraordinary powers, become the new socialist dictator of Amerika.

Hannity is doing a special tonight:

hannity@foxnews.com.

Also, they have a skeleton staff on weekends. This wouldn’t come out until tomorrow anyway.

No nuke plants, no coal fired plants...if the Democrats had their way, we would become a FOURTH world nation :-(

President Bush can make this real easy. Pull the electricity on the Congressional building for a week. Announce "Unfortunately, we have 'energy problems' because the Dem's don't like the source of the power. It's too dirty for them. So we are giving them what they want. Clean power. And if Iran gets their hands on that electro-magnetic pulse device, this blackout will be permanent."

If that doesn't drive the point home, nothing will.

Not really new, but renewed. This was the lead topic at her rally in Ohio I attended about a month ago. When she first got up on stage the audience chanted:

Excuse me, this is brand new. A tape released just today and sent out by FReepers to just about every one they could think of this morning. She has talked about coal before but not with the words of Bozo blatantly saying he will bankrupt the coal industry to pay for wind and solar power. Find a the tape on youtube and listen to it.

Also the fact she was living in a slum doesn't help his image of a wealth spreader.

Well, certainly he's not willing to spread his own wealth. Not even to his family. But she did get other people's earnings since she's being supported by taxpayers.
