Hubby is in the power industry. The Cal-ISO head said windpower in CA won't be beneficial because the peak wind times are at 2am. To store that energy will cost a lot more than using a gas turbine plant. As far as solar goes, the SW is really the only place where that is profitable. And CA has a regulation that for every acre a solar plant takes up, the power company has to buy 4 acres of similar land and leave it untouched. That makes solar pretty unprofitable here. The environmental wackos can tout those 2 all they want - they will never be able to take the place of coal, nuclear, and gas turbine plants.

How are we supposed to power up our electric hybrid cars without generating plants? Does O believe electricity comes from the switch?

How are we supposed to recharge all of our cellphones, Ipods and laptops and run air conditioners and big-screen TVs without electricity?

I say this through grit teeth since my dad worked for local coal-powered “Light Plant” for almost 40 years and other relatives were coal miners.

This story needs to spread far and wide. Thank you for mentioning it.
