McCain camp trying to scapegoat Palin
Yahoo News ^ | 10/30/08 | Roer Simon

Posted on 10/30/2008 7:17:48 AM PDT by Roberts

John McCain's campaign is looking for a scapegoat. It is looking for someone to blame if McCain loses on Tuesday.

And it has decided on Sarah Palin.

In recent days, a McCain “adviser” told Dana Bash of CNN: “She is a diva. She takes no advice from anyone.”

Imagine not taking advice from the geniuses at the McCain campaign. What could Palin be thinking?

Also, a “top McCain adviser” told Mike Allen of Politico that Palin is “a whack job.”

Maybe she is. But who chose to put this “whack job” on the ticket? Wasn’t it John McCain? And wasn’t it his first presidential-level decision?

And if you are a 72-year-old presidential candidate, wouldn’t you expect that your running mate’s fitness for high office would come under a little extra scrutiny? And, therefore, wouldn’t you make your selection with care? (To say nothing about caring about the future of the nation?)

McCain didn’t seem to care that much. McCain admitted recently on national TV that he “didn’t know her well at all” before he chose Palin.

But why not? Why didn’t he get to know her better before he made his choice?

It’s not like he was rushed. McCain wrapped up the Republican nomination in early March. He didn’t announce his choice for a running mate until late August.

Wasn’t that enough time for McCain to get to know Palin? Wasn’t that enough time for his crackerjack “vetters” to investigate Palin’s strengths and weaknesses, check through records and published accounts, talk to a few people, and learn that she was not only a diva but a whack job diva?

So the not-so-conservative wins the primary WITHOUT support of the Republican base, pretty much continues to snub the base during the election campaign, but it’s got to be someone else’s fault that he loses to a lightweight like Obama.

RNC, here’s your clue:

YOU NOMINATED A LOSER!

/rant

Palin has been the ONLY bright spot in this entire fiasco that began in January. Fie! on McCain.

This is a bag of wishful thinking from the leftnuts and Romney mopers. The McCain campaign isn’t stupid. Sarah is McCain’s Superstar, and he lets her shine.

If McCain loses, he has only two people to blame:

Jorge el Segundo and HIMSELF.

But I doubt if these stories are true.

They are payback for the McCain camp attacking Biden’s gaffs which ostensbily attack Obama.

No, if McCain loses, its more likely the leftist media will come back and say “Gee, we really LIKED you John, but that extreme, far-right wing conservative Palin made you lose!”

Which is why Palin must keep herself in the popualr limelight. SHE is the party’s hope for the future if McCain loses.

Rachel Madcow was spewing this stuff the other night-all from anonomyous sources of course. I don’t believe one word of it. If no one liked her, no one would show up for her rallies.

I think the opposite is true. If the McCain/Palin ticket loses, McCain should be the scapegoat; he’s the drag on the ticket, not Palin.

The left just doesn’t know what to make of her.

They don’t understand someone being genuine, as the whole leftist philosophy is about saying one thing and doing another.

But there is no doubt that she has connected with a great number of people. Just as some have commented, I was ready to sit this election out, but now I feel like it’s my duty to get this woman into national office.

One thing is certain, Palin has a much brighter future in politics than McCain has.

McCain and his wife were on w/Hannity on Monday or Tuesday, and he debunked any kind of riff w/Sarah. In fact, he said it was good that they disagreed at times; he needed her to challenge him and give differing opinions (my paraphrase of what he said).

He seemed extremely glad to have her on the ticket.

I find the recent stories about Biden far more believable -- he's on a short leash, he's not supposed to talk to the press, when he speaks he's always supposed to stick to what's on the teleprompter. Obama doesn't trust Joe to be Joe. The reasons are obvious.

McCain, on the other hand, has seen his campaign take off since he selected Palin. She attracts huge crowds. She has real star power. The Base has never been wild about McCain -- but they are wild about this ticket.

Why would McCain (or his staff) have any misgivings? This reminds me of Lincoln receiving complaints about General Grant's drinking: "Find out which brand -- I will send a case to each of my other generals!"

Total Bunk. McCain is on record verbally rebuking these types of Palin attacks. He, perhaps begrudgingly, knows that she is the best tie he has to his conservative base and we love her. Liberal talking-heads will talk and liberal ears will listen, but I don’t think we have anything to fear here.

If the McCain “advisers” who are jumping ship now ever work for another Republican candidate, we have only ourselves to blame.

If they are stabbing McCain in the back today, they will do the same to the next candidate who is stupid enough to employ them.

These names should be on a list that is remembered for a long, long time.

A victory has a thousand claimants, a defeat just one to blame, and she has been picked, that bright Alaskan gal Sarah. God bless her.

After the fiasco of Hussein if elected she will be a shoo in as president in four years.

EXACTLY

the media are facing a wave of anger and they better not be surprised when faced in public with it

now we need the GOP to mention this too

stop going on MSNBC,NBC for a start, there is no need to go there, never do a debate if it is run by them
boycott them, never turn their channel on or click their links
