My wife heard on the way home from work today that John McCain is leading O,Bama by 2% in early voting in Indiana. The report probably came from WRTV6,a she usually listens to that on the way home.

Where do you come up with 18-20%? Maybe in 2004, but not this year. Far closer. Last I saw, O was ahead.

Indiana will go GOP. Tell that to Karl Rove. Indiana people do not like the way the libs trashed Dan Quayle. They do need to get rid of “pretty boy” Bayh.

The fact that it could be close isnt a great sign. Not really, it was expected. Indiana is a big ethanol state, number 5 in the nation, and McCain opposes ethanol subsidies. He will win the state but not by the margin President Bush did.
We only need to win by 1 to take the EV's. It's a winner take all state.

“Do they actually tabulate early votes at this time? I thought they waited until election day to do all the counting.”
As I understand it some states will release figures based on party. They will not release it based on vote.

I would venture to guess that if McCain cannot win Indiana by more than 2 points that he cannot win the election. IN has almost always been a solid Gop state and if it is close there it will be an ominous sign nationwide.

Electoral-vote.com has Indiana weakly dem. McCain led at the beginning of October. Since then, depending on the poll, McCain was up by a few or Obama was up 2 to 5 points. I've been watching this daily.

Yes Indiana will go GOP. We are fortunate to have Mitch, he is a straight shooter. We need someone really good to up against Bayh. He got in because Dan Coates retired.

3 points is my bellwether. Bush took Indiana 60 to 39. If the spread is over 3 McCain on election night, it's still an open race. If not, it isn't. Indiana closes polls early, so you'll have those results before the indigestion from dinner sets in.
I plan to be in my cups by that point. I'll be hanging here with you all watching the action, most likely.

There were others going in at the request of Rush to vote for the Evil Hildabeast.
The Dems were simply overwhelmed by all of that sudden support.
Something similar happened here in Virginia and the Dems still think all the primary voters were "their people".

Early voting usually favors Democrats. That we are up at all in early voting shows we will probably win by a good margin.

First, early voting almost always favors the Democrats. Second, Illinois is right across the border and the Chicago media market extends into IN.
