I would venture to guess that if McCain cannot win Indiana by more than 2 points that he cannot win the election. IN has almost always been a solid Gop state and if it is close there it will be an ominous sign nationwide.

3 points is my bellwether. Bush took Indiana 60 to 39. If the spread is over 3 McCain on election night, it's still an open race. If not, it isn't. Indiana closes polls early, so you'll have those results before the indigestion from dinner sets in.
I plan to be in my cups by that point. I'll be hanging here with you all watching the action, most likely.

First, early voting almost always favors the Democrats. Second, Illinois is right across the border and the Chicago media market extends into IN.
