The Outdoor Wire has confirmed from confidential sources that the "transition team" for the Democratic candidate has already begun looking into the current approval system for firearms transactions. It seems the digital recordkeeping approval recently granted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) has piqued their curiosity. With a virtual Form 4473 in existence, we should be on the lookout for a new record-keeping initiative that will "simplify" the hassles of off-site digital record storage by allowing FFLs to, say, store the information on secure governmental servers. Of course, the government will never access the information.

"Relax, Obama isn't going to take away anyone's shotgun."
Shotguns? But, nothing said about your PISTOLS, so called assault type rifles (like my new AR15), or your long guns!!! Keep your rabbit or bird shot gun, give up your pistol. BIG freaking chance.
Pete Shields, the head hoplophobe at the "Brady" gun control outfit, invented the term. His intent was twofold: 1) It sounds scary, and is similar to the real term "assault rifle" (or sturgewehr). 2) It is a new term, and can be defined any way he and his cronies want it defined.
Yes, but he won't be able to walk out with it either. Depending on the locality, he'll have to wait the required time to take possession.
You still have to fill out a yellow sheet at gun shows if you're buying from a licensed dealer.
Private sales on the other hand...
Anybody who thinks John McCain is too far to the right is off their meds. This guy thinks Obama will win and is simply paying for protection.
Depends entirely on the state.
Remember: the next prez isn’t sworn in until January 20, and can’t enact infringements instantly. Tell your cousin to start the process NOW - yes, there is still time. Just do it already.
I suspected it came from something/someone like that. Thanks.
Just bought a shotgun that I’m worried Maryland or the Feds could ultimately classify as an assault weapon. Mossberg 500 Tactical with pistol grip kit - hardly meant for hunting. I find it telling that the Brady crowd advocates restricting weapons purely designed for home defense. Democrats always think it’s reassuring to say ‘we won’t take away your hunting and sport shooting guns.’ I am not a hunter. I live in the city and simply want the right and the ability to protect my life, family and property from armed criminals.
It burns a lot easier, too.
Are you saying we should mobilize if Obama is (perish the thought) elected? If you are I agree. He’s much more dangerous than any foreign invader because he can use the resources of government to defeat us.
Or Boosh, for that matter. W's about a quarter inch to the right of Fat Teddy.
Speakign of which, I’m looking to buy a lever action .357 short barrel (19 to 20 inches for barrel, ~34 to 36 inches long) from a private party, if you know of anyone who has one. It makes a great home defense weapon for a small person, like a wife or young teen. I’m in E. TN and will drive up to 150 miles to make the cash purchase.
Covering your behind just in case? Not only is your demurrer as to OBAMA a bit craven and lawyeresque, but it expresses no confidence in the ability of Free Republic to protect your identity.
You do realize that a worst-case outcome is a 'Rat Congress with a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate, plus The One in the White House?
That's what they're working for. A four-month political window in which to turn the United States into a People's Republic.
When you find one see if they have two
Voluntary at first, during the transition period. That’s how it always works.
You can order a HOWA Puma from WalMart, for $470! But that gets registry.
Oh, c’mon, I’m sure it’ll be fine. /sarc

That was my point. It’s how liberals debate.
Confiscate your property? Relax no one is going to take away your condominium.
Outlaw gas engines? Relax no one is going to ban your V-6.
