What will be your first bellweather sign as to which way the election will go?
Posted on 10/27/2008 2:02:11 PM PDT by Osama Obama
What will be your first tipoff as to the final outcome of the election? Will it be the weather forcast a few days before the election? Will it be the reports of where voter turnout is the heaviest? How about the speed with which some of the first states will be called? What's your tell?

VA is in more likelihood of being called early, though. Oh, and Indiana is in central time zone, except for a sliver of the southern portion, so, no, it won’t be called first.

I think New Hampshire. Also depending on how badly the Republican loses Virginia Senate seat will be telling.

The Electoral College vote a few weeks later. Nothing else matters. Turn off the idiot tube on Election Day: it may be the only way to preserve our sanity.

My first indicator will be how the newscasters look. If they are downcast, then they already know McCain is winning. If they are plenty cheery, I will know we are dead. They know pretty well what’s happening before they can broadcast anything.

What will be your first tipoff as to the final outcome of the election? I'll wake up on Wednesday morning and see what the mess looks like on the news. BTW, I won't watch any news coverage on Tuesday, nor will the polls drive for whom I cast my vote.

I will know early, when my NJ sister calls and says she is voting for McCain. She’s leaning, and voted for KERRY, GORE, CLINTON and CLINTON the last four times!

How quickly the networks call Indiana and Kentucky for McCain since they are the states with the earliest poll closings.

Do the networks really call states on exit polling alone?
Is there any Bradley effect in exit polling?
