SAN DIEGO -- Recently, I was on a Latino-themed radio show defending John McCain. The defendant was accused of abandoning comprehensive immigration reform, turning his back on Latino supporters, and associating with a bad crowd (read: Republicans). I didn't give an inch. I was the only person in the discussion who actually knew McCain -- from my stint 10 years ago as a reporter at a newspaper in Arizona -- and I could attest to the fact that the senator had always gone to bat for Latinos. At one point, another guest scolded me in frustration: "Look, it's not about John McCain. It's about the Republican Party!"

The lesson is that the people will always vote for the guy offeing something for nothing. McCain and Palin offer to spread the opportunity while Obama wants to spread the wealth. Opportunity means work and the possibilities of failure. If that’s the case then as the song goes”take the money and run”!!!

Yep, I lived in New Mexico for a few years. It’s the perfect model. All government employees are hispanic. It takes 50 million years to get anything done and corruption is pretty rampant. The non-Hispanic people live in their own gated enclaves or sections of town and venturing outside of them can range from iffy to downright risky.
Blacks have not assimilated as well as they should have by now because they have been kept on welfare plantations and because their “civil rights leaders” fear that, if they do assimilate, they will no longer be a reliable voting bloc, but, rather, will begin to vote more on issues other than race and handouts.
There’s a vid around here somewhere of Obama talking about how it threatens the Rats’ ability to elect blacks if blacks move from inner city [plantations] into the suburbs.

It's been that way since the 60's. Before that, it was segregation which prevented Blacks from assimilating.

We could have had the Latino (that is, born-here or legal immigrant) vote if we had tried for it or at least been civil. Not all Hispanics are illegal, poor, on welfare, or want to speak Spanish to the 5th generation. But people here and in the GOP in general lumped them all together with the Dem’s specially tended group of dysfunctionals, and this is the result.
It is the BIG FAT so called TAX CUT for 95% of Americans. Not complicated.
The Democrats have been in power for the last two years. Have these people got anything yet?
Their self induced exile is their problem they choose to keep versus solve. Minorities under a Socialist Democratic form of government will ALWAYS be victims.

This country is great and the dream of so many immigrants because of our opportunity. This is the country where through hard work and perseverance you can improve your life and your children's lives. There is plenty of room for immigrants who want that dream, regardless of what race they are. We don't have room for racial grievances, whether the race is white, hispanic, black, asian, or any other race. We should stand for freedom, not any fears of racial persecution. Immigration should be regulated and our laws should be scrupulously enforced, for the protection of the immigrant and of the citizens. But people who want to come here for freedom and opportunity should be welcomed.
