I am sorry if this sounds hard. However, this would not be an unusual ploy for sympathy this team of socialists. Both have used EXTREMELY radical statements about family for political gain in the past. That is a simple fact.
I have read the following here and feel I should respond:

Did you ever hear Joe Biden trying to gather sympathy for his poor dead wife, who he claimed was "killed by a drunk driver" - it was total fabrication. Total.
Saying she negligently pulled out in front of a truck wouldn't have been quite as much of a tear jerker, though. It is my opinion that these two follow Marxist/Socialist tactics, my friends, and they will use ANTHING to advance their cause. The ends justify the means for them.
I am also aware that while it is sad, if it is true, that his Grandmother may be ill. HOwever, Obomber also has already used the very same poor woman to illustrate "the typical white" who is an inherently racist woman. I would never say that about the woman who sacrificed to raise me, no matter how politically expedient or to illustrate a point. She must have been crushed.
I will offer him my heartfelt condolences (should the time come and should it be proven appropriate) but until then, I will view this with a large helping of skepticism, if you don't mind.

She broke her hip. She doesn’t have cancer or anything (thank goodness). Nancy Reagan also broke her hip, yet only Sen. McCain sent his best wishes (at the debate. Obama did NOT add his good wishes to McCain’s). A broken hip is not “gravely ill”, as we are told. The Obama Campaign is reeling from the Joe/Spread Wealth blowback, as FINALLY McCain is focusing on economics. They will do anything to distract from that. Biden’s so-called “gaffe” yesterday, which was a total headfake. And now this. As Jeremiah Wright is ready to hit screens across Swing-land, Obama has chosen to be by his WHITE grandmother’s side. How can we not cynically question his true motives here? Obama has no interest at all in his black grandmother who was robbed 2 months ago, or his brother George who lives in squalor.
Actually it can easily be, given the age of 86. When old and fragile people get such fractures, that's frequently the catalyst for a quick downward spiral.
In my mom's case (she's 87) a fall that collapsed some spinal disks actually instigated the onset of her Alzheimers. Her mind changed to deal with the pain and her head has never (and never will) come back.
Keep in mind that over half of the people clicking this thread will be Democrat operatives or their willing accomplices in the MSM. Every nasty comment is going to be amplified and attributed to “typical” mean-spirited win-at-any-cost Republicans.

I can understand your distrust of Hussein, but having gone through the deaths of four loved ones in the span of less than three years, I don’t feel it’s appropriate to dwell on this. JMHO

A good way to get "the sympathy vote", that is, if you're an immoral, unethical, Narcissistic, asshole left-wing demonRAT who is willing to SAY or DO ANYTHING to get elected to the highest office in the land.
Of course, this may also be a chance for him, while he's in Hawaii, to get a BETTER faked birth certificate than he currently has.
