Barack Obama, campaigning in the key swing state of Florida, is seeking to capitalize on the excitement over the World Series-bound Tampa Bay Rays, telling a Tampa crowd he was showing some love for the Rays, several members of which joined him onstage.
Only problem?
Obama, a self-avowed Chicago White Sox fan, declared his allegiance earlier this month for the Rays National League opponent in baseballs championship, the Philadelphia Phillies.

As for the article itself people who love sports do not and will never buy into "I'm rooting for both to win".
Come on, this is typical obama - you all know that he likes to take both sides of every issue.
I am surprised that he didn’t suggest that the confrontation between the Rays and Phillies be settled by the U.N.
I was for the Phillies, until they lost, and then I was for the Rays.
Mac was just in Bensalem , Pa. and went on how while in Pa. he was a Philly fan and yesterday in Tampa he was a Rays fan and tied it to where ever Obama is he says what "that crowd wants to hear.
Who said Barry is afraid to take a stand? Palin should use this in her stump speech somehow. “He was for the Phillies before he was for the Rays.”
I guees this is sort of like voting “present”.
Unless it's a team of all white, male protestants...then their screwed.
Did he say that this would be an exciting matchup of teams from two very important states, Tampa and Philadelphia?
your “present” poster is outstanding! right to the point!
woo, wooo, wooo, let’s just hold on here mr. missiah.
Tampa Bay are the “little guys”-they have had success without forcing teams like the Yankees and Red Sox to “spread the wealth” after all they only way Tampa Bay should succeed is if you take money from the “rich” (large market teams with huge tv contracts) and spread it to the “poor” (small market teams without huge tv contracts). The success of the Rays flys in the face of your marxist agenda.
Thanks!
so obama cannot make a decision. if he cannot decide what to do in a case as inconsequential as this, how paralyzed will his decision making process be in six months when biden’s promised ‘test’ happens? and how many will die because of it?
Brad Lidge for President!
The Rays play in a dome and in a league where the pitcher doesn’t even hit. What’s left to say?
Whatever it takes to get me elected.....
