Obama Lies List for debate
vanity

Posted on 10/15/2008 8:46:26 PM PDT by FreeAtlanta

We need to list out Obama's lies. There were a bunch of them. Two to start the list;

1.)Obama immediately critisized John Lewis for his racism charge

2). Obama never supported denying health care to babies that survived abortions

And one more observation.... It occurs to me that with the talk of ACORN, McCain could have used that as an opening to talk about 0bama’s “thugocracy.” This could have scored some points but I suppose those dainy undecideds/independents wouldn’t have believed it or thought it was too negative. But McCain should have challenged Zer0 on the efforts his flunkies have made to intimidate TV stations and journalists running ads or stories against him. That is downright scary and un American.

<<“When clinton left office we had a budget surplus ... the national debt was approximately 5 trillion dollars.” Can someone explain how that is not only a gross democrat lie but even contradictory in the same breath?>>

The Truth:

1) The budget surplus was a forecast, it was never anything real. And, of course these never take into account economic problems that would cause the tax base the shrink over the period of the forecast, which was starting to happen in the 2000 election cycle. BTW if there was ever any hint at a possible surplus it was because of folks like Newt Gingrich. It certainly wasn’t because of libs who never met a government program they didn’t like.

2) We never really recovered from the last down turn. It only felt that way because the inflation from the housing market was creating distortions in real economic activity indicators. Massive alarms should have gone off when the Fed was unable to raise long-term interest rates. I suspect this might have been a real motivation for not wanting to realign the housing market with across the board inflation after it had been unhinged from it by what Fannie and Freddi were doing. In short, what looked like real econmic growth and a nice bright spot in the economy was actually quite fake.

3) We were attacked. We had to rebuild the military after years of neglect. We had to dramatically restructure law enforcement and intelligence agencies. We had to bailout airlines. We had to take over airport security.

4)We had to pay for Kartina and every other major hurricane that came though.

5) We had to rebuild reglatory agencies so the chinese counldn’t poison us or our kids.

6) We have to pay for prescription drugs and healthcare for everyone who can’t or won’t.

7) We keep dumping money into a failed education system, hoping the problems go away.

8) Outside of committing a felony, and some times not even then, no underperforming federal employee is ever fired, or laid off when they become irrelevent; and they keep hiring new people all the time.

And the list goes on... Gee, what do you think the Dims would have done with the surplus, if there ever was one, which there wasn’t.

He said someone said, “Kill him!” about Obama at a recent McCain rally. That wasn’t true, but something a journalist made up for his article.

That would have been nice...”Senator Obama, why are you opposed to free speech?”

Oh well...I won’t whine too much tonight.
He did fight much better tonight than usual.

He even pulled some punches I didn’t expect him to pull (that Chavez line was fantastic!)

McCain: You launched your political career in Bill Ayers living room.

Obama: That is categorically false.

It was the kitchen.

McCain did an excellent job of painting Obama as a tax and spend liberal. I wished he would have used those words.

That and the phrase that Dr. Savage came up with for BO's economic plan and practically demanded that McCain steal from him: "trickle-up poverty."

Obama says he will greatly increase funding for early childhood education. In fact I believe he wants universal pre-K. At the debate he flatly asserted that early childhood education “closes the achievement gap” [between the races.]

This is blatantly false. There is not a shred of evidence to support the claim, and plenty of evidence to show he is not telling the truth.

OBAMA: (paraphrased) We have only 4% of the worlds reserves, yet America uses 25% of the worlds energy; it’s obvious we cant drill our way out of our energy problem.

REALITY: This is a FALSE ARGUMENT! The 2 percentages have NO relationship to each other; for example (numbers are assumed/made up for illustrative purposes):

WORLD RESERVES:10 trillion barrels
US RESERVES: 400 billion barrels (or 4%)

WORLD CONSUMPTION: 40 billion barrels
US CONSUMPTION: 10 billion barrels (or 25%)

Using the above example WE COULD drill our way out since we have 40 times more reserves than we are using (and the reserve figures could conceivably be much higher allowing an even greater multiple of reserves)

But the point is that the 4% - 25% figure is a false argument and we could actually (using these made-up figures) have as little as 1% of the worlds reserves and still have 10 times our consumption.

Your right and the ratio is even better than you guessed it is.

US CONSUMPTION: 20 Million barrels a day

US RESERVES: 2,000 Billion barrels - that figures out to be a 267 year supply.

1,800 billion of those reserves are frozen in shale rock so it won’t register as a proven “petroleum” reserve but that does not stop China, Brazil, Estonia & Scotland from making gasoline from their Shale oil projects.
