LUCASVILLE, Ohio — A death row inmate convicted of murdering two women 22 years ago was set to death Tuesday without any family members present.

There is no excuse for these scum to sit on death row for this long.

I would think that at least a few death row inmates would request extremely expensive meals - like a rare grand cru Burgundy and a true Kobe filet sauteed in Piedmontese white truffle oil or something.

I don't think that they're allowed alcohol - otherwise, one could request a bottle of scotch and become totally inebriated - which would certainly complicate matters considerably.

The bogus argument that this convicted felon was too fat to be put to death is ABSURD!!!!!! There are large animal vets that euthanize horses, cows, and large exotics (elephants, lions, etc) on a daily basis. These animals weigh into the thousands of pounds, and as a personal witness, I can tell you they feel NO pain.

Heck, it's been so long since the crime no one remembers why he's being executed. Or the heinous nature of the crime.

According to Wikipedia:

On the morning of his execution, he enjoyed a last meal consisting of a hamburger, hard-boiled eggs, a baked potato, a few cups of coffee, and three shots of contraband whiskey.

I guess it was smuggled in.

Why is it that in the arguments over “humane” ways to kill murdering scum that shooting them in the head is never mentioned. That is the most humane, painless way to kill someone I know of. Kind of messes up their face but so what. Actually a .22 long rifle in the right spot would kill them quick and not throw brains everywhere either. Works on cows and they are much bigger than humans.

Unfortunately, the prison staff who clean up his mess are well aware that people tend to release their bowels upon death.

I'd order something ridiculously expensive for my last meal. And if one were being executed in Chicago (I know they don't do executions, there, but it's a thought experiment) you could order Duck Liver Pate and a Cohiba cigar and postpone your execution indefinetely.

And as far as the 'it's painful' argument goes, SCOTUS has already dealt with this issue. A few moments of pain do not constitute a violation of the Eighth Amendment.

Of course I can guarantee a pain free execution. It's quite simple really. There are two methods to choose from.

1.) Nitrogen asphyxiation. Absolutely painless, and easy to clean up after.

2.) Chair, 1 pound block of C-4, one detonation cap. Absolutely painless, but a bit more clean up issues.

I think I read somewhere that they stick a "plug" in them just prior to inducing room temperature in order to avoid this sort of problem.
